Ilya at Qi Movements has been amazing. He has made me feel incredibly comfortable about lifting, I trust Ilya's ability to lead me through my progressive strength training.I came to Qi Movements in a round about way, from a recommendation from my doctor for a physiotherapist (iMove), who then suggested I talk to Brien at Qi Movements. My goal is to improve my strength after being diagnosed with osteopenia and mutliple myeloma (which is significantly impacting on my bones). I've always focused on cardio, and since my medical diagnosis, I realize the importance of strong muscles as the key to remaining pain free and active for the rest of my life. My ultimate goal is to be able to do the activities I love, that let me live my life fully. In just a few weeks, I've already started playing pickle ball again, cycling, paddle boarding, and doing longer hikes.Ilya prioritises safety and form, both by demonstrating the move, and helping align my body. He tracks my progress, increases weights (or holds back) as much as I can handle, he's built a customized program tailored to me, and adjusts it based on how I feel on any given training day.The gym has fantastic discipline of grounding footwork, attention to breathwork, and movement. The gym is bright and neat, and the Qi Movements team are all very approachable. Conversation flows easily on days that I feel like chatting, or quiet and focused on days that I don't. It really is like no other gym I've ever worked out at. Incredibly grateful to have found Qi Movements, Brien and Dre have created an awesome environment, and have a wonderful team.
