David Ashcom Heating & Cooling just installed a new heat pump in my 1500 square foot house and I'm extremely satisfied. In October 2026 (a week ago), they installed a new Coleman heat pump (16 SEER2, 2-ton, 2-stage) with a variable speed air handler. My house is now comfortable, switching automatically between heat during the cool autumn nights and AC during the day. I especially like the easy-to-use Honeywell 8000 thermostat, which lets me set the desired temperature and humidity without a manual!Why did I replace my old heat pump?I was tired of throwing money ($5000) at my old not-so-good Goodman heat pump - replacing the compressor, capacitor, two fuses, two AC pistons, and one thermal expansion valve in the past year - even though it was only 9 years old. Even after all those repairs, the Goodman could not maintain the set temperature or remove humidity, even when it's only 80 degrees outside. I was forced to set up a portable AC all summer to keep the house tolerable. Also the parts warranty was up in a few months.Why did I choose David Ashcom Heating & Cooling?1. Most importantly: I chose David Ashcom because of the owner's business philosophy, which is formed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.2. THIS IS HUGE! They offer a 10-year PARTS and LABOR warranty on new heat pump systems, as long as you keep a yearly maintenance agreement (currently, $240/year). In contrast, some installers offer only a 5-year PARTS warranty and a WIMPY 1-year LABOR warranty. When you are spending more than $10K on a system, it is critical to look for the best warranty possible. I can't afford any more expensive repairs.3. Everyone I dealt with was extremely competent, friendly, and polite - from my first phone call with office manager Chris to owner David Ashcom himself. Outstanding technician Kevin Ardrey came to my house to do a comprehensive onsite evaluation, expertly answered all 40 of my HVAC technical questions, and prepared the quote. The top-notch install team, lead installer Austin and technician Homero, made installation very smooth. They arrived on time, explained the process, were personable, cleaned up, and hauled away the old equipment. They even raised up the heat pump a bit and rerouted the condensate line to resolve a drainage problem.4. The company is locally owned and operated by David Ashcom - not by a faceless private equity firm. Owner David clearly knows the HVAC field; he once got on the phone and explained to me the factors involved in properly sizing a heat pump (2-ton or 3-ton) and why I might need a whole-house dehumidifier to maintain my desired humidity level. He also sent the technician back to my house for additional checks before sending a quote for a new system.Future HVAC work:In 2027, I want to add an AprilAire whole house dehumidifier (model E080) to maintain the humidity to my desired setpoint of 50%. I will be sure to call David Ashcom Heating & Cooling for this and all my HVAC needs. You should too!

This is how you run a business. I love a local thorough company. I just moved back to the area and needed a new HVAC go to. I moved into a house with a new heat pump and air handler coupled to an older back up propane furnace and another older heat pump and air handler that services the house addon. He fixed it and then did the maintenance in this terrible heat I am confident to have them come back and will definitely sign up again for their affordable maintenance program. Can't give these people enough praise!I just had the nicest, sweetest hvac guy come to my house for a check up. It was my first one and poor guy had to move a bunch of bricks to get into the crawl space. I was going to help but he wouldn't let me. He did it all so he could get the work done. What a sweetheart he was. I'm so glad I found Ashcom to service my heat pump. May God bless him and the company for their kindness. Prompt, courteous service with routine maintenance and for occasional problems. They worked with an old (age 17) propane heater for several months before we all decided it was time to get a whole new system which they installed. So nice not to have the on-going, annoying problems with the old, noisy heater! After so many years of service, we trusted their judgment on choice of new system from the company that David Ashcom now uses. Very satisfied - it is much quieter!

David Ashcom Heating and Cooling removed an old system from underneath a house with a very tight crawlspace and replaced it with a Mitsubishi mini split system. Their price was competitive, their customer service is top notch and the 3 years of maintenance while I owned the house were trouble free. This company has above average ethics for this industry (based on a not so great experience with the company that had installed the existing system) and I highly recommend them.

So my capacitor blew last year, began looking for a company and came across David Ashcom. They are a local company and heard their ads on the local radio. Seemed to get good reviews and figured what I got to loose.Called them and they sent out a tech the next day. Good communication with the company and told me who was coming and when. Tech diagnosed the issue as a bad compressor and offered options for repair. Did not try to upsell me a new system. My current system is a trane that’s 14 years old. Ended up replacing the compressor and inside coils, cleaned out the old Freon, that actually burnt to the shorted out compressor. In all cost was very reasonable and felt I was treated very well.Overall great experience with the company, great employees, very friendly and kept you informed the whole way.A couple months later my inside fan went out and called them right back, came back, same great treatment and responsible prices.I was recommend them.

TJ and Brett installed a new heat pump system about 2 weeks ago. Of course, they had to remove the old system first, and with the air handler in the attic, while working on a very warm day, compounded their chore. They worked steadily for 12 hours, and even brought a small window air conditioning unit to help cool our living room before the new system was operational. Whether it is routine maintenance or dealing with a problem, a phone call to David Ashcom is answered promptly and a technician is dispatched very quickly. And whoever comes is always very respectful of our property and handles themselves in a professional manner.
