Teddy attends Oxford Pet Whisperers (OPW) regularly on my work days, but we have also used the daycare in times of need such as family illness and funerals. I am extremely grateful that OPW have been there for us. We rehomed Teddy at 8 months’ old. He is anxious and was nervous in the company of other dogs. At OPW he mixes with other well behaved dogs in a controlled environment and is happy and relaxed there. He adores the staff and shadows them just as he does at home with me. Teddy gets excited as we approach the daycare centre and can’t wait to go in. This combined with the Instagram videos is very reassuring for us, knowing he is in good hands. Less

My Airedale Molly has been going to OPW since she was a tiny pup. She started at their puppy sessions, and quickly I realised how much she loved being there! Molly now attends regularly and also OPW is there for when we need overnight stays. Molly is always ecstatic to go in and happy to see me on my return. I feel happy and confident that Molly is having the best time with their caring staff, and is kept stimulated and safe, whilst being able to socialise with other dogs. Penny has been with OPW since June this year for one day a week and she absolutely adores it! She is growing in confidence and her behaviour is improving around other dogs and she has also stopped barking to initiate play! She drags us in so she can rush off and see the whisperers and her other doggy friends and when we collect her she has obviously had a great day and is nicely shattered. I have to go into the office more often now so without hesitation we are increasing Penny's day care - and we will be using the hotel next year - I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable leaving her with anyone else! Ruby has just had her 1st overnight stay at OPW and loved it. She has been a regular at daycare for about 3 years and we are happy and confident that she is well cared for and Ruby is always very keen to be at daycare. The overnight stay went well and Ruby came home her usual happy self. Our golden retriever Ella is a regular daycare visitor and this year we tried the doggy hotel facilities for the first time. It gave us peace of mind as we knew she will be comfortable knowing all staff and environment, and she absolutely loved it, I don't think she was very impressed when we turned up to pick her up 5 days later, she wanted to carry on with the fun! We had a couple of updates on how she is getting on which was lovely to have. And you can see what your pup is up to during the days on Instagram account. Oxford Pet Whisperers have just looked after our two Labradors for 3 weeks. We were very unsure about leaving them for such a period of time, however with regular updates, plenty of general videos and photos on the Instagram page and specific photos placed in our library, we felt really reassured. The staff are always so caring and understanding and Jamie even took them home on a couple of weekends to take them out of the "hotel" environment. We booked our dog in for a puppy groom last year. We looked online and saw that it was going to cost £10 but were surprised by hidden charges and ended up paying around £35-£40. The female groomer was not friendly towards our dog and did not even ask for his name, then was rude when we arrived back a few minutes late to collect him. He did not look well groomed and certainly did not look happy in his post groom photo (see pic). Upon returning home we found out why as the groomer had cut him under the eye and did not tell us. It looked like she had just washed the wound and covered it up. Luckily it did not become infected. We were very displeased and frankly disgusted with the service but due to other factors in life getting in the way at the time we never reached out to Oxford Pet Whisperers, hence the late review. We would certainly not return nor recommend their services to anyone else. Less

My 8 month old puppy, Mabel, has been going to OPW since she was 3-4 months old and absolutely loves it. After initially trying a different daycare, where Mabel came home over stimulated and stressed, I tried OPW and was very happy to see Mabel come home suitably tired and relaxed. They have kept me updated with any issues they have seen with Mabel as she has gotten older and what training they were doing to try and resolve them while at daycare, as well as giving feedback on improvements they saw after I focused on these training areas at home with her. Mabel is very keen to get into daycare in the morning and I get a sleepy and content dog back at the end of the day. Less

Our gorgeous dog absolutely loves his day at OPW - it really is the highlight of his week! He's been going for three years, and thanks to the incredible staff he has steadily grown in confidence around other dogs, which not only makes his time at daycare more enjoyable, but also means he is happy to interact with other dogs when out and about with us too. Couldn’t recommend highly enough! Jamie, Natalie and the team are amazing. I’ve been sending my dog Cooper to oxford pet whisperers for a year and a half now since he was a puppy and I wouldn’t dream of using any other daycare/dog walking service. They are experts in their field and take such good care of Cooper. He comes home tired out for the evening after a day at daycare and as soon as I turn the corner in to the car park to drop him off, he gets so excited! The pick up and play service is great too as it allows me to be a lot more flexible with work! The daily updates on Instagram are fantastic as it allows you to see what your dogs been getting up to in the day. Couldn’t give a more glowing review ⭐️ Less

We found Oxford Pet Whisperers unfortunately very challenging. The positive part was that our dog seemed to enjoy going there. On the flip side though, the company were just too inflexible for us and clearly money motivated above all else. We had signed up for a specified day a week, but were unable to change this even once for a week in the future that was slightly different for us. We were unable to do this, even with months of notice or when there was a national day of mourning announced. My wife tried to drop off the dog at 7.27 but was told to wait until 7.30 before accepting her (not a huge issue but just added to to inflexibility we struggled with). At reception they were very uncommunicative and wouldn’t interact with my wife at all. However the only time they did communicate was following an email exchange in which we voiced our frustration with the inflexibility mentioned above. At this point they started to tell us that our puppy displayed behavioural issues which we nor our new dog carers have ever seen. I saw in a different review, this appears to have happened to someone else. The biggest issue was then that multiple charges were taken from our account without warning. We stopped using their services due to the inflexibility but immediately were charged £50 for an “early termination fee” without warning. Another £75 was later taken, again with no warning and we were told a week later that it was for late fees with payment- again, we were never given a heads up around this and would have rectified it if it had been brought to our attention. Finally andperhaps most spitefully, as soon as we told them we were leaving, our puppy was no longer featured in any of their social media (despite having been highly featured previously). Again this seems to have been the experience of other customers as well, looking through the reviews. We’ve now gone with a different company who are much more transparent and the dog has also been very happy with them too. Be very careful with Oxford Pet Whisperers. Less

Our Corgi girl Mooncake has been attending the daycare at least once a week for about 18months and she absolutely loves it. This summer we tried the hotel service for the first time as we went away for a four-day business trip. We are aways very nervous about leaving our baby girl behind; but they have a very friendly and professional team who always takes good care of her. She enjoyed her hotel stay and it is definitely a service that we will repeatedly use in the future. We are very grateful to have found a nursery that we can trust! Less

My dog has been attending once a week for a couple of months now. I was a little hesitant at first, with the lack of a phone number and all communication being done through a portal, but my boy Oreo adores this place. His tails wagging from the moment we pull up outside, and he can't wait to get in, barely glances back at me. I've also notices his recall is improved, and he's knackered at the end of the day. They have an Instagram page so you can keep an eye on what the dogs are up to, which is really nice, but don't necessarily expect lots of pictures of your dog, it gives me an idea of what is going on, but I don't see my pup all that often. Our Cocker spaniel Lyra really loves it here, nearly takes my arm off to get in on her regular day care sessions. Also brilliant for holiday stays, the idea that she gets to play with all her friends during the day rather than being in a kennel is just fantastic and means, although we miss her, we know she is having a fantastic time. It has been a while since I wrote a review about any services but here I am giving my honest opinion about this service since the level of customer service and professionalism is absolutely shocking. We have started using the daycare back in 2020 when we got our dog and the initial service was great. We paused for a while since we were both at home during the lockdown. When we resumed using the service, there was a massive change in the way they operate and communicate with customer. On their website, we booked to drop our dog in between 9am. We turned up at 8.57am and the door was completely shut. There was nobody at reception, nobody picked up the door bell(not sure if it was even working), there was no numbers on their website or google to call, nobody responded to our message on Instagram and in our last attempt, we walked to the back trying to get the staff attention to let our dog in but she ignored us, immediately walked inside and closed the back door even though she saw me walking toward her asking if she could help. I’m shocked with how the business is run and the worst part is when we emailed the business to let them know of our bad experience, they got very rude and defensive straight away and denied our request for a refund even though we were the one being denied a service. I don’t understand the change in attitude and the inability to be sincere to your customer. Is this because we are not a regular customer hence the business doesn’t care about providing a service to us? We booked our dog in that day because it was a special celebration for us but this event just ruined the day instead. Sadly I wont be using the service again but to be honest I don’t think the business care losing a customer because they immediately deleted my account and blocked us on Instagram after this incident. Thank you so much for another fabulous groom on Friday. The family commented on how silky soft his coat was and he smelt fabulous. Teddy is so happy at OPW he goes off happily and comes home content and in need of a good long snooze. Having a bath/groom at OPW is a must, especially if the children/grandchildren are home for the weekend as Teddy looks and smells great. Roll on his Christmas groom . Very very difficult if you need flexibility. Pay £31 a day session and if cancelling 7 days more you pay in full. No telephone number to get hold of them. Everything done via portal. Refuse to speak to you in person. When we asked them to cancel our direct debit after being a customer for 7 months we were never asked why we were leaving, which surely when losing a valuable customer you would be concerned and want to know why? As soon as we cancelled our direct debit our dog was never shown in pictures and videos, despite other dogs that were leaving having leaving parties. Puppy play school great for socialisation and previously I recommended this to people. However the daycare seems to have become more and more of a money making business over the last 6 months. Daycare may be an option for those smaller dogs who don't need to expell lots of energy. Would not recommend for those active dogs who need to get out and run about! My dog seemed to be very hyper on return from daycare and wanting lots of attention. As soon as we started dog walks this stopped completely and he sleeps! You are made to book your dog in for neutering at 9 months (against pet advice) as they will not accept unneutered pups after 9 months. We were then pushed to book this even earlier by OPW as we were told our dog was displaying guarding signs and misbehaving. We personally had not noticed any changes in our dog at this time, and it was only when we said we needed to move day care dates for the neutering that any behaviour concerns were mentioned. We also had a message about him not being crate trained at day care. We never had any indication from them that my dog was needing to be put in a crate. Less

I am sad that I am having to write this review as when I first joined my dog to daycare 1.5 years ago I thought opw were brilliant. Unfortunately they have gone extremely downhill since then for multiple reasons. Firstly they now have a very strong rule about not asking any questions at reception when picking/dropping off your dog. They want you to send a message via their portal if you ever have any questions. This can be extremely frustrating sending messages back and forth when talking to someone face to face would be so much easier. I have also had multiple messages ignored from them which is crazy when you’re not allowed to contact them any other way. Due to this there have been a couple of times when I have asked to speak to Natalie or Jamie while at reception. But every time have been told it is their day off, however this is not true as I have seen Natalie through the window and seen their car parked outside. The reception staff were also once told to close the blinds when I was arriving so that I couldn’t see her, so embarrassing for them. As what should be a professional business you would expect them to be able to communicate with their customers but clearly not. They hide behind the online messages because they clearly cannot deal with people. Secondly you have to book daycare over a month in advance now (which I understand is because they are busy). But for people whos work isn’t the same every week and don’t know when they will need daycare it doesn’t work. At one point I was booking daycare 4 days a week 2 months in advance just incase I needed it. Half the days would come around and I wouldn’t need them. But I couldn’t afford to cancel the sessions as you get charged so much for that. Which brings me onto my third point. All they care about is your money. Unfortunately this was not the case when I first joined, everything you can think of has some kind of charge to it now. What led me to leave even after accepting all of the above issues was that as soon as they saw I was beginning to use a dog Walker a couple of times of week (in addition to daycare as I could no longer afford all the daycare) they told me my dog had some behaviour issues. Issues which were not happening at home or with the dog walker. I do not believe the issues stated, I think they were not happy we were using someone else. Whether they made it up or not, if he was displaying these issues only at their daycare then it is not the place for him to be. To top it off when I told them I was leaving they never included my dog in any videos or pictures for his last remaining weeks. (Every time he was at daycare the past year I would seen him in at least 1 picture). Even though I was still a paying customer. They also blocked my new dog walker on all her social media having followed her for a long time before. It really goes to show Natalie and Jamie’s attitude is appalling and embarrassing. In summary this business is so unprofessional, only cares about your money and unfortunately not your dog. Less

Their doggy daycare and boarding are second to none our dog is happy and very well cared for by friendly and professional staff, the customer portal is available 24hrs for bookings etc. Their priority is always the safety and happiness of the dogs in their care, as it should be. Our dog has stayed in their hotel and had a great time - he loves all the staff and is always super keen to go in. The addition of grooming services is a fabulous bonus with lots of options and a very experienced groomer - open to all dogs not just daycare users - very highly recommended. Less

Very poor. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. Only interested in your money. Unprofessional, unfriendly and a money making company who hides behind their terms and conditions to get more money from you. No telephone number to make contact, no doorbell (apparently so they can focus on the dogs). Rubbish. No customer service skills. Taken £350 from my bank account for a hotel stay we didn’t use because I wouldn’t leave these charlatans with my worst enemy let alone my beloved puppy. They say you have to book weekly prior to a hotel stay but you can’t make a booking because they are full. They will say I’d left it too late but that is utter rubbish because you can never get booked in. I’d tried in April for a August booking. Why did your systems allow the booking in the first place if the so called terms and conditions hadn’t been adhered to? Money that’s why. Wouldn’t refund deposit (in May) and then took the balance without authorisation because I dared to challenge their processes. I asked them to call me and they didn’t reply. They will respond to this review with their usual rubbish standard T&Cs. I have screen shots of every conversation because they will probably delete my account. Utterly disgusted with them. Our lab Barley has been with the OPW since he was puppy and he's going to be 3 in September! He goes to daycare twice a week which he loves, the staff are amazing and he gets to see his doggy besties. Barley also had a groom this week and came back smelling lovely and feeling super soft. My puppy has been attending OPW puppy school for 4 weeks now and he absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing, they always keep you up-to-date with how pup is doing on Instagram so you can see all the pups playing together. They all look so happy and are well taken care of. The OPW Shop is also fantastic for those little treats. Just used OPW Grooms and my boy came back looking and smelling beautiful. The customer service didn't feel very friendly or welcoming and felt very commercialized. The booking system is very rigid making it difficult to fit around day to day work and living. With the new system a single ad hoc day would cost around the same as a week at our new daycare so feels expensive for what it is. Covid is part to blame but i've since found another local daycare that has a very friendly approach and they'll chat with you and tell you who the dogs been playing with and how they've been etc. every time you go to collect. Understandably, not everyone wants this but as owners who mainly put their dog into daycare so they can have some fun, its nice to know what they've been doing each day. For a dog who prefers toys and activities to playing with dogs i'd say this is a good daycare but for those who just love to rough and tumble its overpriced. It also works better for those who will buy regular days than those with less structured work weeks and need fairly last min bookings so can't guarantee they'll use up the packages within the time frame. I've been taking my pups to puppy playschool here for a couple of months, and it's absolutely amazing. They come home happy and knackered and I know they're in good hands while they're there. There's lots of interaction with the pups during the morning, they aren't just left to their own devices which i appreciate. Highly recommended. Less

My dog LOVES going to Oxford pet Whisperers! In lockdown we have been working from home and we soon realised that this was causing socialisation issues with our dog. We then found OPW and thought we would give it a try and it was the best decision! My dog now goes a minimum of once a week for socialisation and good play! Natalie and Jamie are fantastic. Percy loves his trips to day care. They ensure that all the dogs that attend day care are sociable, friendly dogs. This is so important for all other pups and owners. Perc was such an outgoing puppy but over the past year we’ve had a few ‘run ins’ with unsociable dogs resulting in him becoming more and more timid and submissive but I NEVER need to worry about him when he’s with OPW’s. Highly unimpressed!! Having paid £25 upfront for an initial assessment (refundable if your dog fails the assessment) I took my dog for the 30 minute assessment and was told there and then that all was good and my dog was welcomed back. The £25 fee covers the first day of daycare if your dog is accepted. Booked my dog in for her first day, only to be emailed within hours to say that my dog was NOT suitable and early collection could be arranged. I emailed back instantly to arrange collection within 30 minutes and that I would appreciate my £25 refunded as my dog was now suddenly "unsuitable". I received no reply, so went to log into my online account where communication is preferred, to find they had deleted my account and I was no longer able to log in. I try calling only to be ignored and unanswered to. When I got home my dog was gasping for water, clearly her stressful morning did not include any complimentary drinks. How this company has the audacity to call themselves Whisperers is beyond me. Do not be fooled by the appearance. Trueley sad experience considering my optimism and excitement. It’s nice to know that the staff there continue your training, it’s not just that the dogs are left to their own devices all of the time. They use your commands for your dog and so your dog comes back after his stay and still understanding the commands you have spent time training him with. I also love the fact that they send you photos and often see them on social media. The new site in Didcot is well set up and Bali is always happy when we leave him, in fact he just runs off to them without even a kiss goodbye for his mummy! Less

OPW are absolutely fab - they take such amazing care of our little bundle of energy Luna ❤️ Luna’s little face lights up when Natalie or Jamie open the door and she has such a great time on their walks. We don’t have family near by, but OPW are so amazing at helping us out with Luna... they even took her when I went into labour with my little girl! Can’t recommend them enough! Less

I couldn't recommend Nat and her team more to anyone looking for a dog walker who genuinely cares for their dog, and who's dog genuinely loves going out walking with them! I love Nat's personal touch on the 'Time to Pet' app after every walk of updates on how the walk's gone, what they got up to and several pictures of the dogs clearly having a fun and happy experience. My dog is now a pro sitting by the curbside before crossing the road which I have to thank Nat for helping me out with my request for this. There's always a full bowl of fresh water when I come home. As a veterinary surgeon all of these points mean a lot to me, and I trust Nat and her team 100% to go that extra mile to provide the utmost care for my dog. Nat at Oxford Pet Whisperers has walked my two dogs for the past 6 months. They absolutely adore her! They can be a handful at times but Nat has been so good with them, and I trust her totally with their care. She is always punctual, listens to my requests regarding when and where to walk them (avoiding hot weather and walking near water when possible) and takes lovely photos of them out on their walk. She has also been in to check on my cats when away on holiday. Being a veterinary surgeon, the care of my pets is of the utmost importance to me, and I have been so happy with Nat and her team. Our Cavapoo Malcolm LOVES Natalie, Jamie & Jürgen. So much so that I’m sure he’s more excited to see Natalie when she picks him up than when we get home from work. Oxford Pet Whispers sealed the decision for us getting a puppy; our biggest concern was what to do while we were at work or away and finding someone trustworthy to look after our pup. We have used Oxford Pet Whisperers while on holiday for one week. The service was outstanding. They looked after our boxer and french bull dog who are like our children. They treated them like part of their family and believe me they are real animal lovers. When we collected our babies they looked healthy and happy. The walks they went on were amazing and they made many friends. We feel they enjoyed their holiday as much as we did.
