I bit off more than I could chew when I adopted a 5 year old Bull Terrier. He came to me after being in a shelter for a full year after having been previously adopted and returned for behavioral issues. I was already struggling with him and then he climbed a fence and bit a neighbor's dog.I found a trainer online that talked a good talk. I paid them a ton of money and they took my dog for a month. When the program was over, they returned him to me with little instruction on moving forward. We got home and not much had changed. I was frustrated. A few months later, there was another incident with another dog. I knew I had to either give him up or find someone thatcould really help turn him around. I found CRT online and after a long talk with Katie I entered my dog into her program. Working with Katie and her team was just what I needed. Not only did she work with my dog to give him the training but she worked with me so I would have the skills moving forward to handle him. I am forever grateful, my only regret is the time and money wasted on the previous "trainer". Katie is the real deal, she has the education and experience combined with a true love of dogs that make her an incredibly effective trainer.

He was entrenched behind two earlier professional attempts at basic training, years of uncontrollable bad behaviors and outbursts with any visitor to our home—he was impossible to appreciate. I had seen our neighbors hire Katie for their pup and asked her to come and give us an opinion of our boy to see if there was any chance of getting the wild one to settle down. Even our last trainer had ended their efforts with the comment: “Good luck with that one.”No one could have prepared me. Within 5 minutes she had him wrapped around her little finger trying his very best to please her. Who was this and how could a complete stranger command such attention and respect from the incorrigible wonder? And how I get her to come again and train our dog?Her lifelong experience and knowledge of how to handle canines is extensive. She worked with both my husband and I as a team and within two sessions, I could see a massive change in Trooper’s whole personality. From being an arrogant, acting out, rude toddler (his true personae at the time) to a truly enjoyable and loving pet wanting to do what we asked, Katie made it happen. Her training skills but mostly her measured, disciplined techniques gave us a whole new Trooper to love.Anyone working with her will find it immediately apparent that she is a very professional, dependable and organized lady with years of practice and a never-ending toolkit of responsive and efficient solutions for all dog breeds. She was always ready to answer any question we had in our very chaotic, stress filled atmosphere. Katie simply sets about bringing everything to calm order and real, palpable progress with every training assignment. She knows all the ways to make things work “canine”-- and the best part it, it comes naturally to her.She is so worth every penny of what you learn from her but in learning from her, you know you have gained a lifetime treasure that will always be with you. Katie and Mia are amazing! We have a husky/cane corso mix, 90 lbs at least! They helped us when he was a little pup and have helped us reinforce as he has gotten older. They are professional, knowledgeable and full of love for the animals that they train and care for. I have boarded my dog there many times and am always pleased with the results. They teach us as well as our animals. I would not hesitate to recommend CRT K9 dog training. They have made a wonderful difference in our life and the life of our dog.

After visiting many doggie daycares/sitters/trainers I found CRT for my German Shepherd rescue puppy-Daisy and I’m so thankful I did! Katie’s behaviorist background & balanced training method seemed the best fit for wanting a secure, well-behaved but still super sweet cuddly pup and it was the right decision. Katie crate trained, taught obedience/tricks and made sure Daisy was happy and healthy, e.g.- She noticed her pads were dry and gave her daily paw-dicures w/ balm until they were soft and healed!After Daisy got a little older I took her *once to a different daycare and she fractured her leg while the staff wasn’t supervising! She needed surgery w/ pins and is recovering. That’s when Katie came to our rescue, again! I’m gone 10 days each month for work so I need someone I trust who knows what they’re doing. Katie stepped up and is taking such good care of my sweet baby when I’m gone. Daisy LOVES Katie and Mia!

We had our intro session with Katie and Mia today and are already seeing little improvements with our pooch, Rocky! They are both incredibly knowledgeable and help break dog training up into manageable chunks. Rocky is a 2 year old, medium size dog and has been showing resource guarding and other territorial behaviors. Katie and Mia helped us understand where those behaviors come from and how we can address them from the source, rather than just the symptoms. My partner and I left the session feeling excited and motivated to help our fluffy boy and extremely well supported by Katie and Mia. I’m so grateful to have them on our side to help Rocky live his best life!!

I would honestly have been lost without Katie and CRT K9 training. I had a situation where I found myself fostering two very large dogs for longer than I signed up for and after a period of very significant burnout found myself really struggling to be a pet owner to my two resident dogs. After hiring another dog trainer that didn’t have positive reinforcement methods, I reached out to Katie desperate for change. Katie stepped up to the plate and immediately taught me how to interact with my animals in a better and more sustainable way. She totally understood where I was at with my animals so that she could meet me at my level and help me make my dogs the very best that they could be. We even just recently got a puppy and she noticed right away some nuanced behavior that might be a problem later down the road and is helping us nip it in the bud right away. I continue to recommend her to anyone who is looking for any training resources. Look no further… CRT K9 is absolutely the way to go.

Mamba did train and board for 2 weeks and I couldn’t be happier with the results. She is excellent on a leash now, has a lot less reactivity and I now have a much better understanding of how to appropriately communicate with her. Thank you Katie for the amazing work :)

We have nothing but the utmost of praises to give Katie on her training program—she is truly a dog whisperer. My husband found her at the beginning of the year for our 1.5yo Doberman. At that point, we had an energetic pup who was unpredictable around strangers and didn’t know how to settle at home. It was to the point where I didn’t feel comfortable walking a 100lb dog in public for over a year! He had been overstimulated by attending a doggy daycare and admittedly didn’t get the structure, routine, and time/training with us that he needed at home.During our first session, we learned that a lot of his behaviors were due to fear and lack of structure. She taught us both techniques on walking him, and within that session we were able to walk him without him pulling.We ultimately put him into the 5 week board and train. I had been really hesitant on this because I’d seen feedback about dogs coming back worse, but I did like that he got weekend visits with us where we got “homework” to practice what he had learned that prior week. We went back to the basics with the crate training, feeding, and leashed walks. Week 1 was rough (I cried at drop off like a mom bringing her terrified kid to 1st day of preschool), but by Week 2 she had earned his trust and they became bffs.It’s been almost 4 months since we completed the board and train and it has really been so transformative. My husband takes the mornings before he starts work, our pup will chill or sleep throughout the day while I’m in meetings, and I’ll get the evening walks, and he’ll chill again in the evenings. We’ve been able to take him to new places with confidence. He’s also been way more relaxed at home and will even put himself to bed in his crate on some nights.
