ALWAYS excellent service and in a timely manner. They don’t overcharge or treat me differently because I’m a woman, which is so rare. Great prices and great people. I’ve gotten nearly all of my car repair done here from brakes to oil changes and never felt taken advantage of. Cannot recommend enough!

I absolutely love the family at JEI Japanese Engine. I was out of town watching a friend's house over Halloween and I needed to get my clock spring fixed on my car to pass inspection. Not only did I feel safe taking my car to their shop but they communicated with me the whole way what the process of the work and the estimated cost of repairs. Their technician has been working on Japanese cars for 30 years and is so quick and knowledgeable about cars. I tried to do some repairs myself and the technician was super encouraging that I tried. Y'all make me wanna cry with how kind you all were. This would be my home auto shop if I lived in San Antonio. If you have a japanese car 10/10 this is your shop, don't look anywhere else.

Karen (the owner) would not take my money. I have a vehicle with high mileage that is consuming oil at a high rate, but otherwise performing well. No visible oil leaks. No oil smoke emanating from tail pipe. Compression test done last week showed good pressure. What to do? A leak-down test was recommended by one of those on-line mechanics.I then booked a time with Karen for such a leak-down test and diagnoses, $115. But when I brought it in, Karen looked up potential problems for that engine and shared them with me. She answered all of my questions about the probability of problems if we did the test, and what might be the solutions. She said that the engine in question, a four cylinder from Hyundai, seems to have a chronic problem strikingly similar to mine. And that there were likely no easy fixes. We both concluded that doing the test was probably superfluous. The engine seems to be deeply flawed. We concluded that I should dispose of the vehicle before it poses a hazard to the driver.... advice I took to heart. Ok "how much do I owe you?" She smiled and said "nada"...I objected several times, but she refused each time....The owner is a class act..

Ive taken my car to them twice and both times ive let them work on my chevy cruze they have yet to disappoint. They fixed my vehicle in an ample amount of time and the mechanics know what theyre doing.Highly recommend thos place

My 2007 Lexus needed a engine swap with a JDM engine from Japan. Ran into a few problems with the jdm engine and they took care of it all. No charge to me for jdms start up process and the car runs great! The time took longer than expected but I understand so I gave them a 5 star for their services. I'm a professional cylinder head performance head porter and didn't have time to do the work myself. I will go to them again for my Lexus needs. Shaun

Unfortunately, I cannot rate this lower than 1 star. Had absolutely one of the worst experiences with J.E. The car was dropped off with the rear window still attached. When I went to the shop, I noticed that the rear window was torn up. I pointed this issue out to the staff members. These people tried to gaslight me and said that I “dropped off the car as is.” Not to mention they added unnecessary charges such as a new starter because one of their techs burnt out the starter. They also made me pay for a new flywheel, which was not needed because they did not service the rear main seal. The car was never the same since then. For the time the car was serviced from them, the car has only moved about 50 miles.
