This picture is taken during his class.....so make sure you are ready (look good).This being my first time getting the license, I was unaware of what to expect.I just received my card in the mail today. If you follow all the steps, you should get your card within a month.I'm glad I did itRyan also provides eye and ear protection.....but you can bring your own.During his class you will use a small caliber gun to shoot x2 shots at a target. I wish we each got to shoot at our own target and keep our target paper..... because we don't even know our accuracy. And I would have been happier if we had like 5 shots....or even empty a clip. So I suggest a clip of shots and our own target paper.That would have made it perfect.Ryan seems very motivated and successful. If he were an undercover cop, I wouldn't be surprised. He kind of has that vibe.....but whatever. It's a gun class.Be prepared to explain why you want to carry a concealed weapon. I personally believe in open carry and any weapon. Unfortunately the actual live-fire consisted of shooting blanks into a box so that we pass the bare minimum on firearm proficiency. This is dangerous, I feel because many people will get their CWP but only know how to pull the trigger. Ryan is a salesman at heart, more courses are absolutely required for proficiency, and he recommends to take his additional real live-fire courses which I feel should have already been included for the bare minimum. It is misleading, but at the end of the day you would’ve already submitted your CWP application for an additional 20 bucks. Less

Next day got my fingerprints and everything's in the mail already!I'm also super excited to do some of his in-person at range training. His beginner's class is pretty sweet, you get to try out some of the top/most popular handguns to carry. And Ryan does an amazing job at helping people feel comfortable and confident shooting. It is so important to make sure you are adequately trained and not ignorant in regards to how you use your gun and the laws that pertain to concealed carry and owning a gun in general!It's actually pretty cool to see that the same guy you're watching videos on YouTube and on his website is the one that is there for you to teach you an instruct you in person! Because much of the instruction is given beforehand, the in-person class is exceedingly efficient, taking only half an hour to get attendees processed, with additional paid services offered to further expedite the application process (which I found to be very worthwhile). Post-class, the instructions for fulfilling the handful of requirements are clearly stated, and can be referenced from a google doc at your convenience. It's like being shown the best way through an obstacle course, because I could easily see this taking an extra month or two if I tried to figure it out by trial-and-error. As for the instructor himself, when asked direct and technical questions from a wide variety of student concerns, Ryan was agile and unfaltering, quickly responding with firm and unambiguous answers. It's obvious that he lives and breathes the subject, and is exactly the kind of person you'd want instructing you, as well as advocating for your rights. Tampa Carry is easily my first recommendation to anyone seeking their CWL. LAST NOTE: through no fault of the instructor or course structure, I did sense some hesitation from other attendees; I think they were hoping that the course would increase their existing proficiency and confidence, but instead, it was mostly centered on legal nuances, which probably made their responsibility feel even heavier (which is good, by the way, because it IS heavy, and you'd damn well better be aware of it). Confidence isn't really the purpose of the course I took, it's simply to ensure baseline competence and pipeline you into a CWL. Confidence can only be instilled by demonstrating competence to yourself through practiced results, so to anyone who feels even remotely uncertain in their ability, I would easily recommend Ryan's separate training services. I have not taken them myself, but across many hours of viewing his free material on gear/technique recommendations and legal best practices, I couldn't name a single time he got something wrong. Second, they instruct you NOT to arrive early AND NOT to arrive late, so my attempt to be right on time failed miserably when Waze didn’t take me to the correct address (input address correctly). So, then I was left frantically trying to locate the shop, texting the employee at stop lights, trying to figure out where it is. I was met with “you’ll need to reschedule your appointment” via text. No phone call. When someone is frantic and lost trying to get where they need to be for something that’s important to them, don’t you think a phone call would be helpful?! They were kind to refund my money, but I’d spent hours on the online course and driving to the shop, and now I have nothing but my honey back and a bad taste in my mouth. As a professional who has focused my career on providing customers with a positive experience, I’ve been shocked by how unpleasant and unprofessional this engagement has been. When a woman said the gun was bigger than she thought he replied saying “that’s what my wife said”. It is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Overall it feels like Ryan rushed through this class. If you’re trying to learn gun safety in an unbiased, professional environment, as well as getting your money’s worth, this is not the place and for those reasons I would not recommend this place at all.
