I came to DKUK in December 2024 for a huge Transformation Culy Cut and I’ve been back so many times! I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever go to another hair sanctuary again. All of the staff are so lovely and friendly, and having your hair cut in front of art and no mirrors is a really great experience! Sebastian cut my hair the first time and I’ve been back with Idi who is equally as incredible! Lovely hair salon and really lovely community of human beings! Less

I’ve finally found a hairdresser I can cope with! No sitting in front of a mirror staring at your own face, but rather a changing selection of interesting artworks. No ‘what are you doing on your holidays?” But chat if you want and not if you don’t. Nice complimentary refreshments, cut hair gets recycled into eco projects- and did I mention the lovely staff? No mirrors. Just art. Which, honestly, is exactly the energy I needed. DKUK is a hair salon/gallery hybrid where you get your haircut in front of rotating exhibitions instead of your own reflection. No staring at your face trying to decode sadness or self-worth, just brushstrokes and someone behind me quietly changing my life.I came in for the post-breakup bob (blunt, sharp like vampire teeth). They offer talk-free cuts (which I love in theory), but obviously I talked. On my mind was the red flag parade I’d been clapping for like an idiot, but mostly I talked about moving to New York. My stylist said just enough. (I usually see Idi who I’d highly recommend.) and we snipped off some dead weight.I left feeling lighter. Meaner (in a good way). And like I wouldn’t fall someone who says they love words but won’t text back ever again. Like I could walk past a mirror and not flinch (even if there isn’t one in the salon). Less

The loveliest staff who always take the time to listen and never rush you. A very welcoming and calm atmosphere surrounded by gorgeous works of art. Have recommended others who have equally enjoyed! Less
