I highly recommend Baltimore Dental Co. I have a history of oral surgery and orthodontics. I absolutely cannot think of anything I would rather put off then going to the dentist. So I avoided it- for years. Randomly one morning while scrolling Facebook, an ad popped up for Baltimore Dental Co. I was mostly intrigued by the old building that they had redone and made into an office, if im being honest. But also by their mission. I called and made an appointment. I was SO nervous when I went for my consult. Everyone was so nice, and so thorough. I learned more at that appointment then I ever have at a medical appointment. I now know the WHY behind everything I went through, with extractions and such, as a kid. I went back today for my cleaning, and for my first ever cavity at 39 years old. They really put me at ease and treated me so well. I love their staff and the dentist. Dr Cross is so sweet and is a font of knowledge! They all genuinely care about their patients, that is very obvious from the time you walk in the door. As a side note, I am still intrigued by how big the old windows in the building are. Why would they have such big windows in a building that was a bank? Hopefully that gives you something to ponder, if you are also nervous going to the dentist ;-)

In a way I can say I got my life back thanks to Dr. Romay. I’ve had bruxism since I was a teenager which slowly worsened with time. In my case I grind my teeth only when sleeping and by worsened I mean I was grinding them together with more and more pressure as time passed. I had a mouth guard which protected my teeth from further erosion but the bite force became so strong that I suddenly woke up one morning with an incredibly overwhelming pain from my neck to the top of my head, my face in several places and most definitely my jawline. This started happening daily so I could no longer work but I also couldn’t do much else. I also suffer from migraines but this is so much worse. I could barely do anything except lay down with my head and neck wrapped in ice packs for hours of the day and night (on and off) while taking ibuprofen A LOT. I went through this cycle of misery for 2 years. I was a patient at CCBC dental school for cleanings only and a student told me according to my X-rays I was grinding so often and so hard I was losing jaw bone density! She suggested Botox for bruxism. I had only heard of Botox for cosmetic purposes not for dental issues. WARNING ⚠️ right now insurance companies don’t cover the cost because this is considered “off-label use”. I called several plastic surgeons offices and was told they had no one on staff licensed to give injections for dental care-only for cosmetic reasons. I did some Googling and found that many people can be licensed to give these injections and they could unintentionally harm patients due to lack of thorough training and experience. I researched the differences between dentists and prosthodontists. I knew I wanted a prosthodontist to give me these injections versus some of the other people licensed to give them. I have never felt afraid of seeing dentists but was a little nervous about having needles put into my face. I’ve been getting injections every 3-4 months by Dr. Romay for a year now. I’ve been working for 9 months and can do all the other daily tasks I used to take for granted. I still have bruxism of course hence the continued injections but I no longer wake up in overwhelming pain that restricts me to bed! In addition I have never had an adverse reaction to any of the injections. Dr. Romay is skilled, experienced, professional and cares enough to explain everything and anything you want to ask her about while treating you like a human being (a skill not all doctors have) instead of the next person she has to ‘get finished with’. Her staff is kind, professional and down-to-earth which creates a feeling of trust, confidence and safety.I cannot give a high enough recommendation to see her for all of your dental needs!

Top notch team from front desk to hygenists. And ofcourse Dr. Romay. Clean modern bright office. Staff is happy, you can tell. Dr Romay has a gentle manner and easy going. Hygenist are great and mix in health and dental advice within the conversation.

Everyone at Baltimore Dental Co. was courteous and very professional. They made sure that i was comfortable with the procedure and explained as they worked. I liked that the staff was all female, and it seemed the techs were cross-trained and could fill in for one another if necessary. As far as dental offices go, my experience was pleasant compared to my previous dentist. I would recommend this practice 10/10 times.Rhonda K

I have been coming here for 3-4 years now and I love everyone here. Dr. Romay is amazing, the hygienists are amazing, the front desk girls are amazing!!! However I did come here to specifically brag about Dr. cross, a newer Dr in the building I believe. I took my daughter here yesterday for a filling, she is only 8. She’s had a filling before so of course shes aware of the process and was reasonably nervous/upset…when I say Dr. cross went above and beyond what a normal Dr does to make my daughter feel seen/heard/comfortable…i am not exaggerating. it really touched me. She played and sang my daughter’s favorite song while being numbed, went over the whole process from beginning to end multiple times, and even showed her how the filling material hardens under light. My daughter isn’t scared to come to the dentist anymore and absolute loves Dr. cross.Not only does Dr. romay run a beautiful office but she clearly hires with thought and intention.

Just had my first visit to this dental practice and couldn’t be more impressed. The team took excellent care of me and my family—thorough, professional, and clearly skilled at what they do.Everyone from the front desk to the dentist was courteous, efficient, and made the whole experience feel easy. You can tell they take pride in their work, their space and genuinely care about their patients.This is the kind of place you stick with. Highly recommended.

Dr. Romay and her staff were a life saver for us. My child lost a front tooth and our "regular" dentist was unable to attach their own crown after an implant. They refunded my money and asked me to to take my son elsewhere. We stumbled upon Baltimore Dental Co. by accident. The staff was warm and welcoming to us. They didn't take our dental "insurance" but I felt so good about them, we made an appointment. Dr. Romay was awesome with my son. She made him feel so at ease. She even had the crown shaded like the other teeth, hence the cosmetic dentristy side of the practice. The crown was placed in position, no problem. Finally a dentist who knows what they are doing. I highly recommend!

I called to set up a new appointment/consultation for botox for TMJ. The office would not disclose how much they charged per unit of botox until you came in and had an $134 evaluation. They also said this $134 was not eligible to be put towards your treatment/botox, even if you had the treatment the same day of the evaluation/consultation. This is very different than my experiences where offices are regularly transparent with their per unit pricing. Just know that if you choose this practice for TMJ treatment you will have to pay $134 to find out how much they charge per unit of botox.Edit to respond to your reply: I’m not sure why you mentioned med spa practices, but as a professional in your field I would urge you to break the stigma towards medical Botox treatments and push back against the singular association of Botox as an aesthetic-only treatment. Yes, it is only currently FDA cleared for aesthetic use, however as a practicing treatment provider you should be familiar with the immense pain relief that individuals with TMJ/migraines can receive from masseter Botox treatments. No one seeking Botox therapy for pain would ever be going to a med spa. Just because I'm trying to be financially prepared for a treatment that insurance usually does not cover does not translate to your view that I am seeking "med-spa" like services.

This office was very shifty and not transparent at all about costs and fees. They led my wife to believe that they accepted our insurance, when in fact, they do not accept ANY insurance - I am not sure why this was not something that was clearly communicated before or during her visit (or when she called prior to the visit and asked them directly). My wife tried to schedule a simple cleaning, but they (like many dentists nowadays, as a ploy to collect more fees and copays) are saying that they "don't do cleanings until they have held an initial consultation" - despite the ADA's blanket policy that everyone needs a teeth-cleaning every 6 months. My wife asked how much the various things they were trying to upsell her on would cost, but they kept insisting that they wouldn't know "until it was submitted to insurance." At the end of the visit, we were on the hook for $400, and my wife hadn't even had her teeth cleaned.Make sure you REALLY understand your insurance coverages so that you know what is or isn't covered, and insist to know what costs and fees will be before you let them do anything. I'm sure they are perfectly good dentists, but they are purposefully vague and know how to utilize the already difficult-to-navigate healthcare system to their benefit. Caveat emptor.

I am so thrilled to have taken the chance and try out this dental office!! I hadn't been to the dentist in almost 10 years(terrible, I know.) Mostly because of fear/anxiety of going to the dentist, on top of not having any dental insurance. Dr. Cross and her associates have been nothing but comforting with open arms from the moment you walk through the front door. They made sure I was comfortable physically and mentally, and was aware of everything we were going to be doing during my visit. I still have a few appointments to go until I'm where I want to be, but so far I've had a crown installed, a deep cleaning, and one filling. I'm beyond happy with my services and treatment at Baltimore Dental Co. I've been recommending them to everyone I know. I also recommend getting the care plan, especially if you don't have insurance. Out of pocket cost was still much less than I had anticipated, with the care plan you save even more!I'm actually happy & excited to stop in now and see everyone ☺️ 10/10

I highly recommend Dr. Romay. She has designed her practice to make the patient a priority with investments in the best equipment and super customer services. Her skills as a dentist are impressive, and she and her support staff are very sensitive to making the experience of visiting the dentist as pleasant as possible. Dr. Romay also stressed best prevention practices to help avoid further dental problems. 5 Stars across the board!
