I was lucky enough to attend the Retreat in the Woods at Melissa Muir’s lovely cabin with several amazing ladies last September and what a treat! Not only did we all have a great time getting to know each other and share our skills, she fed us the entire time we were there, took us up to the top of the mountain in the side-by-side to view the beautiful Uinta Mountains and fall colours but also provided days worth of awesome hands-on instruction for all of us and gave us all access to all of her tools. Thanks to this great experience I now own an Orion Welder (shhh don’t tell my husband how much I spent lol) and the Easy Saw Rotating Clamp. Had I not gotten the opportunity to use them there, I’d probably still be cursing how long it takes to make a chain or pierce delicate pieces, heck I’d probably just avoid those two things all together… Both these items have sped up so many processes and I have Melissa to thank for that. I often times search out her Tool Time Tuesday videos and have used her instructional videos to supplement the Alan Revere Professional Jewelry Making book, watching her videos creating the pieces in addition to reading the instructions is invaluable!
