Tory and Kenyatta came out the next day after being contacted, luckily for us because he had a cancellation and a chance opening. What sets this company apart from many others is that they don't charge for a re-inspection and they came as a duo - so you just have the one upfront charge and the inspection was reasonably quick. Tori was my home inspector on my first home (a major fixer upper!) Now after move in, I'm seeing his thorough inspection caught every single issue from structural issues, plumbing, electric, small leaks, roofing issues. He even noted issues with appliances that we are now seeing.We haven't found any issue he hasn't already noted in our report. We worked with him on multiple homes that we had put in offers for and his report helped us walk away from some beautiful- seeming homes that would have bankrupted us if we had foolishly not done a thorough inspection. His report was a great guide for electricians and plumbers on what to fix as we get the house into shape.And today when we called him for potential asbestos abatement inside a wall we opened, like always, he was prompt, comprehensive, and on it! Came within a day, took samples, and helped us by identifying clear issues we hadn't seen and even offering recommendations of other trusted contractors who can complete the work. I felt overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness and expertise to leave this review!We have 100% trust in Tori and have been incredibly lucky to have him as our first home inspector so we are able to call him for other work now. If you're doing your home inspection and not sure if hes going to check every out, he will! And more than that, he offers other services like asbestos and lead abatement that can help you trust as a homeowner that he's doing the right thing. But here I am jumping into the market and buying my first home.Protect The Investment is the ONLY home inspector that my amazing realtor works with. A family member advised me to choose my own home as opposed to going with the inspector that my realtor works with. I’ve had a great experience with my realtor so I did a little research. The average rating was 4.9 out of 5, and the common theme I found was how thorough they are. I even saw some reviews where buyers walked away from the purchase based on their assessment. The reviews I read assured me that I would be fine.Then came the home inspection. I felt like Tory walked me through everything with patience and thoroughness as if I was his daughter. I especially appreciated Tory’s knowledge about the life expectancy for appliances, systems, etc.If you are buying a house and your realtor doesn’t work with Tory, go ahead and schedule for Protect The Investment to do your home inspection!

We needed 235 sq. ft. of asbestos tiles and mastic removed from a concrete basement floor. Some of the tiles were under trim and interior walls from an old renovation. We were able to schedule an estimate and the work very quickly.Travon explained the process in detail. This includes the EPA regulations, containment of the work area, what we would have access to during the work, treatment of the HVAC system, air scrubber use, construction of a decontamination chamber and airlock, sealing the exposed floor after the mastic removal, and waste material bagging, sealing, and disposing. Education was important. Travon made flooring recommendations to avert future mold problems. There were plenty of places they could have cut and sealed tiles but chose to do the detailed work to remove the tile, mastic and seal the area. The job was done efficiently and the surrounding area was cleaner than before the work started.Protect the Investment’s quote was higher than the competitors but it was well worth it, knowing that they took the extra effort to assure there were no scraps of asbestos that would be exposed in the future and for a job exceptionally well done. I am extremely pleased with the services performed.
