Minister's Helper
Hi, I'm Deborah Pool.
I was at a retreat this past weekend and Linda Furtado was our leader.
I enjoyed every session, but I especially like session three where she talked about our strong growth and faith and being committed, giving our time, keeping ourselves on track, going, staying in for the long term, being a team member.
She also said that God doesn't invite anxiety.
And I love that God doesn't invite anxiety.
How she talked about how to keep our spiritual highs.
And she talked about how Jesus suffered on the cross and indeed he was not happy about that.
And there are many times when we suffer and are not happy, but that doesn't mean we give up our faith.
Do I need to look back on my foundation?
Do I need to revisit?
Do I need to humble myself?
Do I need to take time to relax and know what's important?
Growing roots.
I love that analogy.
I need to be strong.
I need to be like that oak tree planted by the streams of living water.
I choose that.
I choose the church I go to.
I choose the friends I hang out with.
And I love giving to them and sharing with them.
I love the fact that we are one body in Christ.
And I thank Linda so much for offering that to us through her book, Jesus.
Now what?
Help us, Lord, always to be on track and in love with you.
Thanks, Linda, for letting me share.
