Great communication at the beginning. Kind and semi-quick to respond. But, she was making up prices. She said $260 because I wanted small braids plus $30 because my hair was short and somehow that added to to $260. I brought up the deal that I saw in the ad and clarified whether or not she was honoring that rate. In writing she said fine to $230 since small is $200 with the deal. When I arrived I didn't realize it was in an apartment building which made me hesitant because she wasn't transparent about that. I went anyway, she had it set up nicely and her children were kind. But when I asked her the price she said it was $260 again. I was planning to go to another braider with better rates and then she said she'd honor the previous conversation. She was relatively quick although she had to stop a few times to tend to her family. But, as the lady next to me was finishing she told her she didn't pay enough. The lady was confused because the new rate was not what they originally discussed. The owner explained it's because her actual hair was shoulder length so that was an additional fee and continued to go back and forth with the lady even after she agreed to pay the more expensive rate. Then they made her take extensive pictures. When I paid there was no more disagreement about the rate but she did make me take lots of pictures with multiple meticulous hair shaking videos until I had to tell her I wasn't going to take anymore after a 6 hour appointment with no food. I needed to leave and eat. The hair is beautiful, and neat but it's clear she's going to try to get over on the prices. So I would be careful about that.

I really enjoyed getting my hair done here and thought that I had a new spot. This was still ignoring the fact that i had to wait for the second person to come and braid my hair to her leaving early because she had period cramps when she had just a small section left to do on my head. I get it i’m a woman but i’ve also pushed through the pain to get things done. I think she knew what the lady was gonna do and left. When the 1st lady finished my friend’s hair and came to finish mine she noticed she had to redo some in the front because second girl messed up. When she finished she tried selling us bonnets and we told her no thank you we have some. I send my payment and she tells me I’m short because she did a different style the smedium instead of medium like the text message said when i booked the appointment. She stated she asked me and i said that. I did end up sending her the money but i won’t be back. I did give her number to a coworker but i hope that money was worth losing a return customer.
