I came to GRP after a few rough years where my fitness went off a cliff — put on 60+ lbs, stopped caring about nutrition, and basically became a sponsor for my old gym. I tried a few boutique programs to help with accountability, but everything was generic and didn’t translate to anything real. I play hockey a couple of times a week and was pretty close to hanging up the skates because I didn’t feel like myself anymore. GRP was my “one last honest shot” at turning things around. The assessment told me right away I was in the right place. No fluff, no gimmicks — just an honest look at how I move and what I actually need. They built a program for exactly where I was starting from (let’s call it “rock bottom with a shovel in hand”) and coached me through every rep. They’re dialed in on everything: my nutrition, how I’m moving, strength gains, and even ask about my off-days on the ice — how I skated, how the legs felt. I always show up, but some days I’m just not feeling it, and they always seem to know when to use the carrot and when to use a stick — and, fairly, in my case it’s usually a 2×4 that gets me going. The progress surprised me. Every four weeks the program changes, and each block builds on the last in a way that just works. Strength up, mobility up, weight down, skating better, recovering faster. I went twice a week for five months at one of those stretch places trying to get more flexible with almost no progress — somehow I’m more mobile now without doing dedicated stretching. They call it training; I call it voodoo. And the environment is unreal — positive, focused, athletic, fun. I go first thing in the morning and honestly can’t get there fast enough. The only thing more predictable than the coaching is the truly questionable playlist choices from Coach “M.” Luckily the other coaches swoop in for a quick musical intervention before Celine gets a chance to land it.If you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s wondering if it’s too late or if you’re too far gone to make a difference, GRP has been a total game changer for me. It’s not just for pros, and I can’t recommend it more strongly.I don’t write reviews — ever — but this one felt justified, so take it for what it’s worth.Massive thank you to everyone at GRP!-Steve
