The pastries are truly sculptural. The vibrant, mirror-glazed mango dome was like biting into a piece of art, bursting with authentic fruit flavour. The geometric, moss-green pistachio cake was a texturally complex delight. For something a little sweeter and softer, the delicate pink raspberry mousses were pillows of light, fruity perfection. To wash it all down, the beverages were equally thoughtful. My matcha latte was perfectly creamy with just the right level of earthiness, and the rich, dark, small-batch coffee was a coffee lover's dream. Beautiful shop and cakes look very pretty but the flavors weren’t for me. I got 2 small cakes and a box of pastries. The berry cream cake had a dry base and very rich, jam-like cream. The mango cake was nice. The rice cookie tasted bland, and another pastry had a strong cardamom flavor I didn’t enjoy.This is probably a cultural taste difference — perhaps Persian pastries use nuts, cardamom and rose water that are less common in East Asian baking (eg Chinese or Japanese bakeries). Prices are on the higher side, so if your palate leans more Asian-style (lighter, subtler spice), maybe try a single item before buying a full box.
