Where do I start? I’ve been coming to this gym since it opened for massage, but never as an actual member. I live with chronic pain and I’ll be honest, I avoided doing gym work because cardio can knock me out for days. However, things had to change, I had put on weight, I felt lethargic and it was time for a change. I decided to take advantage of the 6 week course, to see whether it was for me and if I could fit going to the gym into my busy schedule. 6 weeks with a weekly PT session. There was a lot to learn, setting up of weights, how to use the equipment etc. However, I’ve never looked back and wish I had done this years ago. I originally joined to try and lose weight and try and support my health with going through the menopause and managing my chronic pain. However, my mindset has changed. I’ve not lost loads of weight, but I have lost inches and more importantly, I’m stronger. I’m lifting more than I ever thought I could imagine, I’m motivated by my PT and the gym itself is like a little gym family and I look forward to going. What have they done to me? I cannot recommend the gym and the team highly enough, from rehab to strength training, to having a laugh and a community spirit. Take the plunge, try it out, you won’t regret it.
