Costa Oil - Dillsburg

After dropping my car off elsewhere for an oil change, I was told the drain plug “shot out” and that I needed a new oil pan, costing around $300. They blamed the shop that did my previous change stating that they “overtightened” the plug and caused the damage. I contacted Costa, because they had done my previous oil change, and their manager actually walked over to the other shop to discuss the situation directly.Costa explained that my vehicle has a known issue with its oil pan design (the drain plug insert can fail if removed normally) and the correct procedure is to siphon the oil from the top instead. They said no one should have attempted to remove the plug for that exact reason. In the end, the other shop paid for my new oil pan (despite never admitting fault).I really appreciated their honesty, professionalism, and willingness to advocate for me even though the damage did not occur at their shop. It’s rare to find businesses that are knowledgeable and transparent like that. Highly recommend.
