Met Leah through my daughter. Leah trained her pup Charlie. When we got our boxer pup Bodhi I knew immediately she was the one for us. Her patience kindness and expertise guided us through basic pup commands we knew Bodhi would need. Boxers are tricky dogs and Leah came through with flying colors. I would highly highly recommend Leah and her services! One million percent. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Leah is truly an excellent trainer! Before we started working with Leah, my dog Ollie was very reactive. He was unable to meet new people due to his reactiveness. He would pull on the leash and lunge at dogs, people, skateboards and pretty much anything he would see on a walk. Since working with Leah, I’ve seen major improvement in Ollie. Leah helped me identify Ollie’s early warning signals and help Ollie disengage from triggers. Ollie is now able to walk past triggers without reacting and is checking in with me. He also has met new people without being reactive which is a big win! Leah has been very patient with Ollie. I definitely recommend her!

We were absolutely thrilled with our experience with Leah! We adopted our pup, Winnie, who came to us with a lot of big feelings and uncertainty around new people. Through our work with Born to Be Dog Training, we've seen incredible progress in her confidence and ability to process her emotions with much more control.Winnie was especially sensitive and cautious around humans, but she quickly built trust with Leah. Before long, she was happily accepting pets and even giving kisses! Seeing Winnie develop such a strong bond with Leah helped us realize that positive experiences with the right guidance could make a real difference in how she approaches strangers.Leah gave us practical tools and techniques to better understand Winnie’s body language, emotional state, and individual needs. I cannot recommend Born to Be Dog Training enough!! Leah is just amazing! She’s so patient and thorough. She gave us so, so many great tips and insight into our sweet girl. After 4 sessions with her, we feel so much more aligned with our dog and much more able to help her give us the behavior we want from her.

Leah has been a godsend! I was working with another trainer until I found Leah- and shifted all of my training to her because she made me feel at ease and that everything is going to be okay! I cannot emphasize how important it is to work with a trainer that you and your dog are comfortable with! My dog has reactivity issues from some scary incidents he experienced during puppyhood. Leah helped me understand my dog better- why he is acting the way he is, and how I can best help him be the best dog possible with realistic expectations and setting him up for success! I was so close to giving my dog up until I found her! I am forever grateful.Under her guidance, teaching and training, my dog was able to be successful in circumstances that I never thought was possible for a reactive dog.Unfortunately, I live far away from Leah's Born to Be Training, but, she made it work with virtual sessions, texting, sending her videos of my dog's behavior and her providing feedback and guidance. She was way more helpful than the in-person trainer I was working with. She also has online training classes that you can go through at your own pace- they are extremely informative and more helpful than I would have ever anticipated. After our training sessions, she would send a "recap" email of what we went over, which is especially helpful for those like myself who likes to read and review what we learned so we can keep working on the training independently in-between training sessions.She also focuses on the human side of things- making sure that we, as dog owners, are setting up ourselves for success! Armed with new knowledge, I was able to embark the rewarding and yet difficult experience of working with my reactive dog. She understands that humans are emotional beings- she prioritizes our emotions and reminds us that it's okay to take a breather! She also was able to work with my kid, so he can be successful training his dog as well!She is bilingual in American Sign Language and English, and it absolutely shows in her online training courses by making it accessible to both those who use American Sign Language or English.She emphasizes that there are no quick fixes! She uses the positive reinforcement approach, which really helps strengthen the relationship between the dog and their owners / families. She also emphasizes that dog training is a whole-family responsibility, which also sets the dog up for success if the expectations are consistent from everyone in the household.I highly recommend Leah and her Born to Be Dog Training business!

We worked with Leah for what started as counter surfing for our giant dog,Monty. Leah helped correct that behavior so quickly that she continued to help us with so much more. From leash training on walks, understanding stress signals, when to reward and when to ignore, signs of when my dog is relaxed and comfortable, integrating him with our cats, Stevie and Jill, how to handle social pressure. I mean the list is longerand it just shows the how great Leah is! In such a short time we learned so much. The understanding Leah has of our animals is on a level I’ve never seen before. It was a pleasure learning from her. Our whole family trained with Leah and she made it very simple for all of us. We had worked with so many trainers in the past and I just about gave up. I’m so happy we found you! Collectively, as a family you made us so much happier and we are so thankful!! Thank you
