I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed with how our family has been handled financially by Gracie Barra Saddle Rock.My son and daughter trained there for a little over six months, and my husband and I also signed up for a family membership. Although my husband and I only attended one class, we continued paying for our memberships through March because we genuinely intended to make time to train with our kids. By March 2025, we had completely stopped attending. My husband and I had several conversations with Alex, the assistant instructor/front desk manager, about canceling our memberships, and we were under the clear understanding that everything had been taken care of. Payments stopped, and we believed the memberships were canceled.It’s also worth noting that Alex was planning to move and was not going to be working at Gracie Barra after April 2025. That may very well be part of how this situation fell through the cracks.In September 2025, I was charged $59. I assumed it was some late cancellation fee and let it go since it was a one-time charge.Then in January, I noticed we had been charged $180 per month starting in November — for classes we have never attended.My husband went in person to speak with the owner. He said they never received a written cancellation and would not refund any of the money, but he assured my husband that we would not be charged again moving forward. I also received an email from the owner afterward confirming that we would no longer be billed.Despite that, another $180 was withdrawn from my account this February.We have now paid hundreds of dollars for memberships we have not used, after clearly communicating that we wanted to cancel and after being told directly — both in person and in writing — that the charges would stop. At a minimum, the simple recognition that we have not been there for nearly a year and had no intention of returning should be enough to refund the recent months and ensure billing actually stops. The way this has been handled shows very poor character and a lack of accountability. Thoroughly disappointed.
