Surgery Type: Bilateral Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)Surgery Date: November 12, 2025I want to emphasize that this low rating is in regards to the post medical treatment, it does not reflect at all, how I was treated pre surgery, during surgery, after surgery or during my two days stay at the Mont Royal Clinic.I want to extent my sincere gratitude to Dr. Benoit Benoit, he is an excellent surgeon who cares about his patients. He was, kind, professional, knowledgeable, respectful and went above and beyond his surgical duties to ensure I was comfortable, pain free and relaxed. He ensured I was well informed about the surgery, answered all my questions in a respectful manner and made sure I was at ease with respects to flying back to Alberta, post surgery.Also want to extent a great gratitude to the reception, the surgical, the recovery and clinic staff. The care was exceptional, especially the care received by head nurse Annie and her team. Annie and her team have the same work ethics and appreciation as Dr Benoit, they also went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, care and support.Post surgical care via email, is not at all like Dr. Benoit’s clinic. It was very disheartening to receive such inconsistent care especially when Dr. Benoit’s care was so superior.Since I was from Alberta, all post surgery communications were through email, more specifically through Dr. Benoit’s General Director; Duhen Bérangère. Email responses by Duhen Bérangère were sporadic at best. Many of my emails were ignored, a lot of emails did not receive a response until hours or days later, he used BOLD lettering in all emails; giving the impression of unfriendliness and he failed to notify me that he was going to be out of the office for two consecutive weeks. Mr. Bérangère stated “all emails are carefully reviewed and addressed”, you will, however, always receive a reply”, and that “a delay of up to 24 hours is considered reasonable for email communications”. Duhen Bérangère needs to realize, that in not receiving a response or receiving a response hours or days later, adds unnecessary stress on an already stressful situation. Duhen Bérangère, needs to; delegate his work, hire someone to help him, work more diligently, learn how to use Microsoft Out Of Office (OOO) or find another clinic.Also, it took Mr. Bérangère over six weeks to send me the OR Report and Discharge summary.Another unwritten policy incorporated by Duhen Bérangère; there is a $150-dollar consultation fee, two months after surgery. It was stated by Duhen Bérangère “Once the usual postoperative follow-up period has passed, which is generally 6 to 8 weeks, any additional medical follow-up consultation with Dr. Benoît is billed at $150”. The recovery time for bilateral knees surgery is one year or more, asking a $150 consult fee for a 15-minute phone call, is not acceptable.After such exceptional care by Dr. Benoit Benoit, I do not believe Dr Benoit Benoit would treat his patients in this manner and would want to change such a situation. It appears as Mr. Duhen Bérangère operates the clinic; what Dr. Benoit Benoit requests and what actually occurs are two separate occurrences.I want to reiterate, Dr. Benoit Benoit was exceptional, he went above and beyond, cares about his patients, was genuinely sincere and an excellent surgeon with exemplary work ethics.
