As a PT tech and exercise science student, I’ve seen a wide range of physical therapy approaches. I reached out to Dr. Kyler Offenbacker at the recommendation of a friend because I wanted to shadow a true sports medicine physical therapist, as there are very few in the NWA area. Observing him at The ProArm Academy was an incredible learning experience. His evaluations are exceptionally thorough, lasting up to two hours. They include a complete patient history, objective strength testing using a dynamometer, and full-body movement assessments to identify limitations that could impact throwing mechanics or lead to injury. He breaks down biomechanical throwing patterns in detail, assessing the entire kinetic chain, not just the injured area. What impressed me most was the individualized care. Rather than handing out standard protocols, Dr. Offenbacker builds specific treatment and performance programs based on each athlete’s goals, movement patterns, range of motion, and strength. His programs include corrective and strength exercises, technical drills like reverse throws and lasso drills, and a structured return-to-play progression. While many clinics double or triple-book, rely heavily on PTAs, or simply don't spend enough time with their clients, Dr. Offenbacker gives each athlete his full attention and expertise. His experience as a former college baseball player gives him a deep understanding of the sport and the unique demands of throwing. If you're an athlete looking for high-level, personalized care, I highly recommend The ProArm Academy.
