I have never taken any dance class, but took a chance on Baila Beats Academy and love it ... great instructors who are enthusiastic, yet patient and fun, which helped me feel comfortable trying Bachata. Can't wait for my next set of classes.

I’ve taken many salsa classes over the years and I keep coming back to Lulu! She has a particular way of breaking down fundamental concepts of weight transfer, body mechanics, and styling that feels very accessible. I’ve had many “aha” moments in class where she’ll demonstrate/explain a step and I’ll think “Oh, THAT’S how it’s supposed to be done.” The group classes provide a safe, collegial, and fun environment to learn (and mess up, hehe), and Lulu is just as great during private lessons as she is when she’s leading a big group of students. Five stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My husband and I took a 6 week intro to afro-latin dance class with Lulu, and liked it so much we completed a second 6-week term with her! Lulu is an excellent teacher - knowledgeable, experienced, and also very personable and kind. She catered the classes to the levels of the dancers, which was great. On days that she could push the difficulty a little bit, we were really challenged and as a result grew faster as dancers. We both had a great time as well - I love to dance but it wasn't my husband's forte, but even he had fun and was excited to sign up again. We're looking forward to taking more classes at the Durham studio soon! Thank you Lulu!!!

We loved working with Lulu for our bachata first dance for our wedding! Each session was SO WORTH IT! We had never taken classes before and she was so patient, she encouraging, flexible, and went above and beyond every session to set us up for success. She will make sure you practice with your wedding shoes and keep the layout in mind for the choreography to make sure not only your dance is perfect, but the view for your guests and your pictures. She pays attention to detail and was so fun to work with!
