My son just turned 2 and his shoulder length curls were out of control, and his tolerance for letting me wash or brush his hair is basically nonexistent. So it was time for his first haircut. my husband found sharkey's and all the great reviews made it very easy to choose to make an appointment. we were nervous for this event since Owen is not great at sitting still and really does not like having his hair played with. with this in mind, we stacked the deck in our favor; our appointment was after naptime, he was treated to a happy meal on the way over, and a variety of cookies were stashed in my purse. however, Owen was so excited as soon as he walked in. started off with some coloring, and eventually had fun playing with the Spiderman car, spinning the wheels and opening and closing the doors. Jackie Y came over and was prepared for the worst; let us know he could sit anywhere he chooses, and if it goes south, he could sit in one of our laps. he excitedly got in the Spiderman car, bluey was put on the tv, and we decided on a haircut. starting with some brushing, to which he initially protested but eventually didn't even notice, and Jackie swiftly and confidently started the cut. she saved us some of his precious curls and he barely even noticed anything was happening. I was most nervous for the clippers, but her calm energy and reassurance that he was doing amazing calmed him and he didn't even bay an eye. finally the cut was over and we got a before and after picture printed, a lock of hair, and a certificate for his first haircut. we were absolutely thrilled with the experience and the result and will be back as soon as he needs his next hair cut. highly recommend!!

This was our 3rd visit but Jackie has been the stylist for the past 2 visits for my son (2.5 years old) and he typically screams . She has been patient, kind and understanding. She remains friendly and professional through each visit. She speaks to him like a little person and not a baby. Today was the first time he didn’t scream bloody murder at all . She was just as happy for him and proud as I was! She is worth the 45 min drive for us to keep building a positive atmosphere for his trust in the process. She gave him time to play in the fire truck, let the sirens be loud during visit and play after instead of rushing us to pay and leave. She is truly an asset to the location.

Went to Sharkey’s for the first time today and had such a great experience in one very cool kid environment. My son is 7 and never wanted to go to a kiddie place to get his hair cut because he thought it was for babies. After I told him he can play Roblox at Sharkey’s he was thrilled! Jackie cut his hair and she was the sweetest. Very welcoming and very professional. Sharkey’s will definitely be our go to place for a haircut! Great job Brian and Sabine!!

This place is amazing!! I wanted to get my youngest’s 1st hair cut before the holidays so I made the appointment and was hoping my oldest (5 yo) would decide to get his cut. He hasn’t let anyone other than me cut his hair since Covid hit. I did my best over the years but have tried forever to get him to get a professional cut. My youngest got his cut and Floyd was great with him! His cut looks amazing! Then my oldest decided he’d try getting a cut since his brother didn’t have a problem and he could play video games!! The games definitely sealed the deal!! Unfortunately they were all booked up so we were going to have to wait a few days. I was so scared my son would change his mind and we’d be back at square one. After seeing if we had any other options I decided to make his appointment in a few days. I was so incredibly happy when they told me they’d squeeze us in as a very last customer that night!!! Not only did Jackie do an amazing job explaining what she was doing to ease him but she did a great cut as well with barely any issues from my son. Granted he was so excited to play the video games but when she used clippers she let him feel them first so there were no surprises. While he was getting his hair cut Floyd offered to paint my daughters fingernails which was so nice especially since she wasn’t having anything done to her hair. They said next time they could pretend to cut hers so she felt included too! I am so incredibly happy with our experience here and will be coming back for every haircut !!

We took our little guy here for his first professional hair cut and not only were we amazed by the results but it was the best possible salon for children that I've ever seen. Kudos to Sharkey's wonderful staff and making our day.

Whole staff was nice, welcoming and great with my 2 year old. It was a bit far from me but we’ll worth the drive. We will be spreading the word and returning with his cousins very soon!
