I was the Architect on a rehab job with a client that had a 100+ year old mixed use building with 3 apartments over a retail “corner store”. Doug and his crew took on lead paint, extreme dry rot from years of “deferred maintenance” and had to do it all on a very urban lot with almost no setbacks. The project required lots of coordination with City officials - both Building and Preservation, OSHA folks for the scaffolding on sidewalks and County Environmental for the lead paint work. The project was expensive due to the extensive damage and lots of custom millworks to match, but Doug was a trustworthy person for the owner to get the desired result. The project went from an eyesore to a beautifully restored gem for the community that all neighbors greatly appreciated.
