I used Crescent Movers this past summer during peak moving season in Chicago. I had found them on Angie's List. Both the communication from the office and the movers themselves were incredible. Not only were they EARLY (and I was notified that they were ahead of schedule) but these guys were incredible to see in action. I swear they have super human strength. They worked so fast and efficiently. They even saved my parking spot for me when I left quickly to get lunch for everyone! They take good care of your items and even unload and get you moved in quickly too. They were extremely helpful in our new apartment, the movers put our bed frames and dining table back together as well as put the feet back on our couches. They were the most affordable movers I'd found in all my searching as well. I thought being that it was peak moving season the prices would be astronomical, a lot of places I spoke to did have insane pricing. My experience with Crescent Movers was great and it started with Susan the person answering the phone. She was professional and knowledgeable and just had a very nice disposition. I gave her an accurate account of the items I would be moving when and where and I received a quote in about 20 minutes. The day before I received a call regarding the move to confirm and see if I had any major changes that would change the quoted price. On the day of the move the movers arrived a little late but it didn't bother me, my move was scheduled for 9-11 and they arrived at 930 and still I was out by 11, I had a 1 bedroom apt on the 4th flr. My entire move was done by noon!!!! They had gotten to my new place unpacked reassembled items they took apart and put things where they were labeled, ie basement bedroom kitchen etc. The only complaint was that I wish they had told me that they were going to have more people moving me, the paperwork said 3 but it was 5 guys so I didn't have enough money for all the tips, but I guess they worked it out. This was my first time using professional moving services in Chicago and it was a bit.. overwhelming at first. You kinda feel like the prettiest girl or guy at the dance and you have all these people ( companies) fighting for your attention. Crescent Movers was recommended to us by our realtor for our move to our new place. We were very weary as we'd had a terrible experience with a different moving company previously. Making the appt was easy and they were flexible with us when we had to change the moving date a week before the move to do delays related to the pandemic. We had three movers and they came in masks, were respectful of our belongings and were very efficient. It rained the ENTIRE day, so they took extra time wrapping our furniture to protect it. The guys worked non stop and were focused. They were upbeat and positive and friendly. We did have a couple dings on some items, but I consider that to be almost inevitable during a move. The items damaged were cheaper IKEA grade things that aren't really made to be moved repeatedly. In addition, the couple things that were more noticeable the guys actually pointed out to me and apologized for - I've never had movers actually own any damage. The move took a LOT longer than we anticipated due to pandemic precautions and the weather. I'm giving 3 stars. I hired them to move us into a house, while they moved everything on time and safely, I was very satisfied with their work. That in fact had them do an in house move for my parents the following week. That too went very well. Although, once I realized that I was missing my two wheel dolly, I called them, more than once. Still waiting for my response and/or dolly. To someone else it might not be a huge thing, but that dolly belonged to my late husband, and it's mine. I called and explained that to Jimmy and he said he'd get back to me. I'm still waiting. I explained it might have been an oversight and that the movers may have thought it was theirs. I'm disappointed, I was ready to give 5 stars. I was worried that something might get damaged during the move but I never thought I had to worry that something would be taken and even more so, not addressed. First I call and man name Christian pick up the phone he was so helpful everytime when I call him he was friendly and try to give me as more information and as more help as he can. What was really helpful because company what my husband work give us so short notice that we must move from Chicago to Dallas only for one week. After all my calls we have a day when our staff should be pick up from Chicago apartment. I'm really appreciate customer service what he gave it to me. All our clothes and stuff was box already they move boxes so fast and professional they was asking the question what do you want go first, and where are fragrance staff that we be most careful with. He was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and organized. I spoke with him several times during the process and he answered all of my questions and ensured the move went smoothly. He called the day before the move to confirm and the day of the move to be sure everything was going ok. We had 4 movers that showed up on time with a large enough truck, the correct number of wardrobe boxes and all of the necessary equipment/supplies. They worked efficiently and tirelessly (unlike other movers that chatted amongst themselves or were on their phones frequently which extended the move and increased our expense). Crescent Movers finished the job an hour less than quoted saving me money and they did an excellent job. This was a local move in Chicago with stairs at both locations. We've used Crescent movers 2 times now and each move excellent. They moved us within a couple of miles on the South side of the city almost 5 years ago and they moved us recently from Chicago to Orland Park. They are on time, very professional and careful with our belongings. Walter and his team communicate well throughout the day, alert you to potential issues and make sure you are comfortable with their moving process. We had some of the same crew members both times which was about 4.5 years apart so they seem to have consistent workers for the company. The pricing is very reasonable given the amount of work that is accomplished within the given time frame. They estimate fairly well over the phone if you give them an honest assessment of your home. They also do a great job of placing and rebuilding the future once move if requested. The first move we did have 1 dresser mirror get cracked which was purely by accident and after it was set against a wall after the move, but they had it fixed and returned to us within a couple of weeks. We would highly recommend them to anyone and if needed would definitely use them again in the future. Less

The first move was with a roommate into another 2 bedroom; the 2nd move was into a 1 bedroom by myself; the 3rd was moving in with my boyfriend (now husband) but had a 2nd stop to a storage unit; and (most recently) last month me and my husband moved out of a duplex up (3rd/loft floor) to another duplex up (2nd/3rd floor). I thought about the "friends and a truck" method of moving everything, but as this was a significant upgrade in my life, I wanted to do things right. Stephanie and her staff were prompt and professional and made sure I had the right number of movers and an appropriate time frame, as well as provide me with pricing up front, which was clearly laid out. I also got a call the day before to confirm my move, which I appreciated. I definitely felt like a valued customer in the process. My movers, Walter and Ricardo, are a superb team. They are knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, and amazingly fast. They sincerely care about the experience as well. Walter gave me a call to let me know he was on his way and was running behind due to a vehicle check on the highway. (I am glad he reached out as I would have been concerned if he was late and not in touch with me.) When Walter and Ricardo arrived, they were prepared and ready to go, and explained their process and systems, which I thought were excellent. Choosing crescent was seriously the best decision I made this year. So after three kids high taxes and crime rate in chicago I thought to give hoffman estates a swing . Moving from the city to northwest burbs is a huge change. We needed movers. After calling many companies and being asked to spend hours filling out lists of what I needed moved I almost gave up. My realtor recommendations call creacent. I spoke to Alex, it was clear he knew what he was doing. After receiving a quote that was a hole lot less then the others i went this route. The movers arrived on time ready to get to work. They guys did a terrific job, well worth every penny . Even impressed my old neibors so when they move they'll call crescent. The only issue that came up was that my kids bed, the screws used to hold the rails were striped. Now, this came up at the new place and was prob like that from before. The guys had extra screws and replaced with new without batting a eye. All in all I wish I could give 10 stars. Less

OK, I've been in Chicago now for 5 years. I'm not a Commitment-phobe with people/relationships, but I sure as hell am a "maybe there's something better out there" when it comes to where I live. The one thing I can count on is the friendly staff at Crescent Movers there to pick up the pieces of my life and whisk my belongings away at a moment's notice. I'm serious, these guys are THE BEST. One year, the night before a move I had to go to the hospital and was pretty sick. She is a sweet talker but don't get misled by that. You need to ask everything about what all they will charge you. Tapes, Shrink wraps (yes, shrink wraps), and anything other consumable which we normally think comes standard with a moving company. I had to have a huge argument over the phone to waive off the consumable charge (they came down to $10 per shrink wrap roll but eventually waived off) and also get my own packing tapes from Walmart. - She never mentioned that I can only pay cash. I had to run to ATM to get cash. Less

WHAT A CREW.Johnny the Foreman and his crew of Terry, Ricardo, Carlos and Steven were AMAZING.After getting royally screwed over by Burrows Movers (they're next on my review list - would give them zero stars if possible), these guys stepped right on in and did our move from a 5-person office to a 10x22 storage unit in just under seven hours. We had a huge amount of stuff - desks, couches, wall partitions, over eighty boxes, over a dozen office chairs, file cabinets, conference table, and the list goes on and on.They were running a little late, but kept us informed, and came in and got right to work. They asked lots of questions to make sure they were doing what we needed (there were a number of boxes that needed to be towards the front of the storage space for easy access, etc.) and even kept their cool in the face of some real douche-baggery coming at us from one of the other renters at the storage space.Crescent really saved the day and made our move so so so easy.THANK YOU, GUYS! The estimator, Alex, was so professional and detailed that i had every confidence in the move. The crew of 5 guys was so hard working and very nice, but I told them they would have to pack 50% of the house and they didn't show up with supplies. I left out delicate things for them to pack and they were packed very poorly. They did crack one of our tv's and I've submitted a claim to get reimbursed but nothing else broke. I think we got lucky but I did tell them to make sure their crew brings the appropriate supplies for future clients. Less

Terry, Ted, and Humberto were phenomenal! This was, by far, my smoothest and quickest move. The team was polite, professional, clearly experienced, and very fast. On 6/27/18, they 1) moved me from my high-rise apartment in East Lakeview to my new walk-up apartment in Lincoln Square, 2) set up furniture there, 3) then went downstairs to my storage closet to pick up additional furniture and 4) moved it and additional boxes to my permanent storage unit at a third location, the storage facility. Once we arrived at the storage facility, all three guys unloaded the truck very quickly and organized my entire storage unit! Humberto is a master organizer! I used them TODAY and I couldn't wait to write my review. First of all, it is 3 pm and I am organizing my new apartment because WHAT? My movers were done in 2.5 hours. George and Josue were awesome. They called and asked if I was ready an hour early, which I was. They cleared the entire move by 10:30 am. I have now had all all day to organize because of them. The quote was only a little more for their materials used, which were absolutely necessary for what I had going on. It was the best $300 I have ever spent in a long time. Highly recommend! Less

I got estimates from 2 reputable companies and then, on the advice of a co-worker, called Crescent Movers in Skokie. I'm glad I did. Their quote was half of the first two. Furthermore, Crescent said of course the move would be done in a single day in a 16' truck (to a one bedroom apart-ment in a city 2 hours away) unlike the first two companies that told me I needed a 26' truck and that it would need to be kept overnight to complete the move out-of-state since loading up would take at least 3 hours. Walter and Eduardo arrived on time and were extremely pleasant to work with. Walter kept asking for other items to toss into the speed pack so that I'd have less to take in my car. From start to finish the whole move took about 5 hours. It was interesting that Crescent didn't send out someone to assess the size of the job, but rather "quesstimated" it over the phone. On the other hand, how much stuff can a 1 bedroom apartment hold? I also got the use of 3 wardrobe boxes for essentially free, which helped the packing process considerably. Be sure that you are perfectly clear on all the charges--e.g. 3% surcharge for using a credit card--and the cost of the tape and plastic for protecting furniture. Even then you will come out ahead with Crescent. Less

I hate moving. I been moving people since I was 12 (I just turned 24). I know I wanted to get some movers in to do the job. Crescent Movers came HIGHLY recommended and they did NOT disappoint. They showed up ready to work. Didn't waste any time. And they are problem solvers. Don't tell 'em something can't be done or a situation can't be fixed because they'll figure it out! Had a huge couch that wouldn't fit. They broke it down, made it fit, then put it back together! They said the job would take 4 hours (2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment). It took 'em three! Even when there was a small hiccup with forgetting something on the truck, I got it back from them same day! I was more than satisfied with the work ethic and customer service. I plan to only move one more time, which means I plan to ask Crescent Movers to come through one more time! Less

My company used them to move two offices back in Nov 2017. They came on time, and there were 4 guys moving very fast. They professionally wrapped up everything and very careful not to damage anything. Upon moving the second office they did take half hour longer to make it to the new place. Presumably they might have stopped somewhere for lunch. We did not question it but we paid them per quote including a small tip. Their quoted hourly rate is competitive, but take into account that they do charge extra for plastic wrap, tapes and any boxes needed. When they put all pieces of furniture in place they left. Later we discovered that the top of our copier got dislocated and would not adhere, so the machine was not working. It was wrapped around with a plastic and seemingly secured. They could not explain how it happned, but we think maybe something heavy fell on it or it got bumped during a move. We had to call the repair guy to replace the top and then put a claim in to the moving company. It took a couple months, but they did reimburse us. In all, it was a good experience. We would use them again. Less

The relocation specialists Jimmy and Alex couldn't have been more polite and accommodating with me as I planned my girlfriend's move. The price was very reasonable, and the movers that showed up (Joe and Umero) were FANTASTIC! We moved from a third floor walk-up studio apartment to a first floor two bedroom apartment in the freezing cold and these guys had it done within two hours!! I was SO IMPRESSED with Joe and Umero's work ethic and professionalism, and the kindness and care they provided with my girlfriend's belongings was exceptional! This is my second time using crescent movers. Tony and his crew were great. They moved me from a third floor walk up to a first floor in the freezing cold. All my stuff made it safe and sound and they even reassembled my dining room table. The quote given and the final price matched exactly. They were on time and the time quoted with how long it took matches perfectly. I highly recommend this company. There price was also significantly less then other moving companies I looked into. I cannot recommend this moving company more! I checked out a few during my last move and all their quotes were super overwhelming - I was shocked at how amazing Crescent Movers' service was for how affordable they are. I had quite a bit of furniture to move up an extremely narrow 4 floor walk up (I'm on the 4th floor.... yikes) and they did it with grace and ease!!!! My dad looked at me like "did that just really happen??" Not to mention they would have been done within that 3 hour minimum had my other U-haul that a friend was driving from his house not arrived late. We really thought it was going to be impossible lol! From the initial quote and follow up to so that they understood the scope of the move, to the movers showing up exactly on time both to load and deliver, it could not have gone better. Initially, we had several email and telephone exchanges to describe the move, how many rooms we had, how much stuff we had to develop a firm proposal. They followed up several times prior to our move day, and provided updates during the day reporting when they would arrive at each location. The movers took great care with our condo we were moving from and at our home on delivery. They carefully wrapped and packed our possessions, and there was absolutely no damage to anything.
