I had a very disappointing experience with this shop’s gunsmithing service and would not recommend it to others.I originally brought in my AR due to failure-to-feed issues and failure to lock back. Based on my own assessment, I suspected the rifle might be short stroking, but I wanted a professional diagnosis, which is why I brought it in. I also requested that an optic be installed and zeroed. After about a week, I was told the issue was related to the bolt. There was no documentation, test data, or video provided, just a verbal explanation through the phone and in-person. When I picked up the rifle, not only did I question the diagnosis, but the optic I asked to have installed and zeroed had actually been removed instead.I then took the rifle to the range and conducted my own testing. I swapped out the entire bolt carrier group (BCG) and still experienced the same malfunctions. To further confirm, I placed the supposedly “faulty” BCG into two different ARs, ran multiple rounds through each, and experienced zero issues. At that point, I was confident the problem was not the bolt or BCG. I also consulted multiple individuals at the range, including someone with a small arms repair background. Across five different opinions and hands-on testing, the consistent conclusion was that the issue pointed to the gas system.I returned to the shop, explained all of this, and gave them another opportunity to reassess the rifle and complete the original request. Time rolls by, I receive a phone call and I was told that they had also swapped BCGs and were not experiencing any issues, which directly conflicted with repeated testing results. After picking up the rifle again, I went back to the range and tested it with yet another BCG. Same malfunctions. Despite this, I was given the same incorrect diagnosis, the optic was still not installed or zeroed, and I was charged again. At this point, I lost confidence in their gunsmithing capabilities. The lack of proper diagnostics, no proof or documentation of their testing and failure to complete requested work, make this experience unacceptable. This experience was a reminder that just because a shop offers gunsmithing services doesn’t mean you’re getting someone with the expertise to properly diagnose and fix the issue. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for competent and reliable gunsmithing work.
