VKB - because our project manager won’t follow through or fix damage that we reported weeks ago, I am posting this negative review in hopes it will actually get someone’s attention at the office.VKB completed a bathroom renovation for us 8 weeks ago. The finished product was good, but not great - 3 stars. But the real problem was with management, communication, and customer service.Customer service I would rate 1/5 stars. Through our project, we went days without hot water, electricity, and damaged water filtration equipment because of contractor errors. Our project manager would randomly go unresponsive for multiple days and I would have to call the office to get a call back. We would never know if someone would be in our house or not, including weekends. Contractors showed up unpredictably, without communication or notice. I hired multiple outside contractors to consult and remedy issues VKB caused (and pay additionally out of pocket).Our front lawn was filled with trash for the majority of the project. Neighbors always complaining and VKB was in no rush to work with us to clear it. Our entire neighborhood watched this Reno play out publicly.Sales walked us through the process by assessing our bathroom. We were sold a ventilation fan for a vent that didn’t exist. Sales didn’t notice this fact when visiting our home. We had to argue the up charge for ventilation install. We were charged post-contract for replumbing on toilets that were wall mounted - sales didn’t see the mounting initially and verbally confirmed “it’s not a problem” after I reminded them a second time at signing. It was a problem for our contractors and we had to argue cost over it again weeks after the contract was complete. Sales and project manager need to work together before price is confirmed.Walk in shower tile has uneven tiling, grout popping out and over onto tiles, and cracking in the corners just weeks after completion. I was told that this was deliberate to make the aesthetic look “rustic”, because that’s what customers like and with our tile selection, it looks better like this. This gaslighting technique and avoidance of accountability is completely unprofessional and offends my intelligence as a consumer.Currently, our cabinet door is coming off the hinges because of a manufacturer error - 3 weeks ago VKB came out and told me they would have it fixed in 1-2 business days. 3 weeks later and I still haven’t heard anything.I hope VKB can make this right, but I have limited optimism given the way me and my family have been treated by management.The best part of VKB are their contractors - not necessarily based on skill, but kindness. Truly nice, respectful, and pleasant people to be around while they worked in my home. When problems arose, it was obvious they were also annoyed with our project manager, because of the lack of communication.I do not recommend this company and will not call them again for future projects.
