Ace was recommended by a family member, who spoke of them very highly. We had previously used another tree company on several occasions, and they were efficient and did a great job. I have learned my lesson and will stick with companies with whom I have experience. The quote given by Ace was very reasonable, I thought, so we elected to proceed. I should have asked for more specifics. The crew arrived as expected when promised. I was not home during the work, but my wife was. In the past, the other company we used placed something down to protect out yard from damage from the tread of their equipment; Ace did not. Multiple areas of tread marks and gouges from the machinery were made, as well as two deep gouges on the other side of the driveway where they parked the machine when they finished. The other company used ropes to lower the larger limbs to the ground, but the Ace crew simply let them fall, leaving multiple deep (some a foot deep and over two feet wide) holes in our lawn. Our rock border around the area where the tree was located was trashed as well. Needless to say, though the tree was removed, the aftermath was terrible. I contacted our representative from Ace and asked him to come by and look at our lawn. He made excuses for the damage done, talking about trying to give me the best deal, though he had not mentioned “cutting any corners” to me in the original quote. He said that he would give me $200 off the price, and never came to look at our yard. We have been trying to repair the damage since they left, but will need to bring in a good amount of sand to fix some of the areas. Needless to say, we will not be using them for another job that I had them quote for us at the first visit. We will use the other service, who are conscientious about caring for our property. Less

We had a significant disagreement about our contract with them. Asked repeatedly for clarification, and their answer was not what they asked at the end of the job.
