I’m feeling so proud of myself — I drove to and from Avon Beach, even home in the dark, which felt like a huge achievement. It was my first ever cold sea dip combined with a sauna experience, and it was absolutely magical. I was nervous at first, but it helped to know that others were also having their first time too. The sauna was hot and nurturing, and looking out over the evening sky as it changed colour, with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, was just breathtaking. My first adventure into the cold sea… although I was apprehensive, I took it slowly. The cold water lapped around my feet and ankles, but being warm from the sauna helped so much. Before I knew it, I was up to my knees, jumping in the waves as they rolled in. It actually didn’t feel as cold as I expected — the energy of the water was so powerful and magical. Walking back to the sauna felt so special, knowing I’d just been embraced by the sea — by Mother Earth herself. The sauna attendant placed a blend of oils onto the hot stones, filling the air with an incredible depth of warmth and scent. Jane guided us with breathwork, and we did a beautiful heart release. I saw my heart covered in black glue, and slowly, it began to burn away. Our second trip into the sea was even braver — this time I went all the way in up to my neck and shoulders! The waves were much stronger, and Jane supported me as we jumped through them. One wave knocked me over and pulled me under — but I didn’t panic. I let the water carry me. I scraped my left hip along the stones, and although I’ve got a sore graze now, the experience was so powerful and cleansing. We ended the evening with one final sit in the sauna, surrounded by the scent of different oils, feeling the deep comfort and magic of the moment. Jane’s singing bowl and drum shifted the vibrations all around us and within us. I met the most beautiful group of women that evening — we supported and held each other, and created the most magical evening together. I’m so proud of myself for stepping outside of my comfort zone — my world feels wide open now. A huge thank you to everyone who made it so special. It truly was a wonderful evening, wasn’t it?
