I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but there were a few things that disappointed us that made us give it truly a 3.75, not a 4 star review! We recently stayed May 8th-11th and overall had a good experience. Here are the pros and cons…Pros:1. The food was absolutely AMAZING! Some people called it too fancy. I admit, I did crave a burger while I was there (potential lunch item in the future?), but this Maple Bourbon Chicken and the Pecan Crusted Redfin was outstanding. Salad, dinner, and desert all included with optional add ons like Blueberry Cheesecake. All the food was outstanding and inclusive, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Props to the chefs and servers who made it great for us and did not disappoint!2. Arcade was free! They had Pinball, basketball, racing, Xbox, play station, and Nintendo switch all set up.3. Most importantly, the Polaris razor off road experience was outstanding. Shout out to Marcus on the Disney excursion! He not only took great care of us, but made sure we had fun and showed us some fascinating and unique features of Disney. Not many are like him that know a thing or two about the local trails! If you aren’t comfortable running a climb up a hill, they have other paths that you can take if you’re not that experienced in an off-road vehicle. They make it safe for you first and fun second. (10 stars for him!)4. All the staff were very hospitable and kind. Drinks (non-alcoholic) were available upon request. Someone was always available to take care of us or answer questions as best as they could.Cons:1. Some of the activities we were told would be available actually were not. The archery was not set up. Axes for axe throwing were lackluster. The pool was open but the kiddie playground was off, the lazy river was definitely not eye appealing (algae in the bottom of the lazy river), no tubes, didn’t even look like a lazy river you wanted to be in. RC cars were not working. No Go karts available. We actually went off site to kill some time before our next excursion unfortunately.2. I think some of the websites promises were oversold. I was under the impression that we could have a side by side available for us to drive around the park to get to certain activities just to be told that’s not the case. So we had to drive our car to all these activities around the park, which was completely fine but was a let down. Even our checkout email said rentals must be back by 9AM so we were pretty confused why we couldn’t get a rental. Check out email also stated there was a general shop and food trucks on sight but in reality, there weren’t any food trucks and if there was a shop, I had no idea where it was.3. (Small complaints) Grateful for a a cabin with a bed and fridge but there’s no counter space other than the fridge. No TV’s in the dining area or music to make it lively. Maybe it was just the beginning of the season, but the entire park just seemed…dead. Empty bar at the pool, empty patio/bar outside the lodge, almost no one at the pool…just seemed like a ghost town.4. The employees were great people but some had no direction or guidance. We tried getting coffee at the coffee bar upstairs and it was this poor girls first day with no one available to help or guide her. She did the right thing by asking people to try it first to see if they liked it and she remade one or two that I saw, but she wanted to take care of the people in front of her. I appreciate that so much from her, but some direction from upper management was needed for the newer people across the board.Overall, the saving grace was the excursions, the food, the hospitality of the people, and the best bang for the buck. We really had fun on the side by sides! And for the price we paid, we were pleased with our stay. We would really like to come back in the future!
