I had been dealing with a bum shoulder for several weeks following a cycling accident. My usual calisthenic/workout routine was not rectifying the issue, and was perhaps preventing progress. I had lost considerable power and reaction time in that arm entirely. I met with Dom who quickly helped me identify the issue, and he began constructing a routine with elastic bands and body-weight exercises to address the weak areas in my shoulder. He also recommended I ceased some of my activities/calisthenics until we could address the muscle balance in my shoulder. Dom was responsive to each piece of information I provided along the way (recalling past injuries, relaying how the shoulder felt as we went along, diet, etc), and he would readily modify/cater the weekly workouts to address those issues. I did my PT religiously throughout the weeks, sometimes at a greater frequency than recommended when the shoulder felt good. It took some patience on my part, committing to feeling awkward with new exercises, but practicing them until I could achieve smooth consistent reps. Within a month I could tell we were headed in the right direction as much of my pain had subsided and the shoulder was articulating more as it should be. At the end of month two I was really enjoying the workouts and making steady headway seemingly week to week. I would recommend Dom for athletic therapy, and will be keeping him in my rolodex to address any other issues I have in the future. Thanks Dom!Be patient, stay committed, do the workouts, and strive to get better. It can be a longer road then you might like, and may be uncomfortable at times, but thats why its so important to have educated guidance along the way so recovery is thorough and efficient.
