I took the try-before-you-buy handgun class from Tribe Defense Academy and I had a great experience. The instructor Tony Hart was very patient and focused heavily on safety. He took the time to explain the differences between the models and helped me test out a few different handguns to see what fit my hands best. I left the class feeling much more confident and informed about my potential purchase. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to test out a firearm before buying.

I had a one on one training session with Tony today “Tribe Defense Academy” , Tony provided me with excellent guidance on proper firearm handling, loading of the firearm and the correct way to shoot. Tribe Defense Academy (Harts and Holsters) are an amazing Husband and wife team. Tony and Shani bring a wealth of experience and knowledge when training. The intro to women’s course taught by Shani is a great way to be introduced to firearms and self defense or refresher for those with some experience or knowledge. There was never a dull moment. The class was informative and the hands on simulator was awesome. I had my first individual range session with Tony and it was amazing. The individual training is really tailored to your current skill set and after evaluation the training is elevated to improve and build your foundation. One session and I left the range with improvement with stance, learned techniques to improve grip, shown drills that I can utilize to improve and left range with overall improvement with skill set. I look forward to participating in additional trainings.

I have a handgun that hadn’t been used or cleaned in over 10 years. I went back to Tony at Tribe Academy to teach me how to clean it. He showed me how to disassemble it first, then he showed me every nook and cranny that needed cleaning. He explained each of the cleaning tools and what they were used for. My handgun was really dirty. Tony then showed me how to reassemble it. He was very patient with me because I really needed all the details and I wasn’t rushed with the cleaning. I feel very comfortable asking questions without judgement, and there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. You can’t go wrong with them.

Shani was outstanding in the classroom, providing clear instruction, ensuring everyone understood the material, and keeping the atmosphere relaxed and engaging so that everyone felt comfortable and confident.Today, I met Toni at an outdoor range for my first live-fire range experience, and it was equally impressive. Toni is an excellent range instructor who made adjustments to my stance and technique that helped me feel even more comfortable and confident while shooting.Throughout the training, I felt safe, supported, and well-informed. The instruction was easy to follow, and I feel that I was given the tools needed to understand the mechanics of shooting, make appropriate adjustments, and improve my accuracy. My class was very informative and the instructor was professional and comical. The class experienced in groups shooting at targets and objects via a simulator. We learned how to hold and grip a gun (toy gun) and we reviewed a few gun laws for MD and DC. Also several safety measures were discussed. Towards the end of the class we discussed a few "what if safety scenarios.”I would recommend this course for people brand new to firearms.
