Tony was exceptional to work with at the range. He was patient, calm, explained everything in a plain, clear fashion. He answered all of my questions and educated me on each weapon ensuring I understood the gun itself, the bullet, the power, and the result upon impact. He assisted with training my dominant eye to focus on the target, reminding me of my stance, to breathe, and how to engage the trigger. He noticed areas for improvement and redirected me with assurance and encouragement. I became more confident in my ability. I gained the necessary knowledge to know what gun(s) I feel most comfortable with. I am looking forward to continued training with the Tribe Academy. Joining the Tribe fam was a great decision.

First, I attended the intro class about gun ownership. Then, signed up for 1:1 session where I learned about how to shoot, hold and load my gun, and all of the parts of my gun.Shani and Tony are so knowledgeable and patient, which calmed my nerves about shooting. I plan to take more classes to learn more about how to operate with a weapon.

Detailed Review:My wife and I took two of their classes. The "Couple Beginner Handgun class" and the "Try B4 You Buy - Handgun class".Tribe Defense Academy is run by a fantastic couple Shani and Tony.We were first introduced to Tribe Defense Academy when signing up for their Couples Beginner Handgun class. My wife has never shot a gun before and I've only been to the range once. However, the class was phenomenal. Both Shani and Tony are personable and knowledgeable. They made everyone in the room feel welcomed and at ease. During the class they went over all the dynamics of firearms but they also had a place to test your shooting with a life size shooting game. It was a wonderful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it.We later took the "Try B4 You Buy - Handgun class" which is held at one of the local ranges of your choice. This was an absolutely great experience. They bring all the guns and and required safety equipment, but what made the experience was the instructor. Tony explained everything, he took his time with us and made us feel extremely comfortable at the firing range.We would recommend their services to everyone, couples and individuals. This is a great small, black owned business that focuses on uplifting our community.

Instructor Tony was an outstanding instructor. As someone considering purchasing a firearm, I wanted to feel comfortable with proper handling and grip techniques, and he took the time to educate and guide me every step of the way. His patience, knowledge, and attention to detail helped build my confidence. I was especially impressed by his commitment to safety not only during the training but afterward as well. He cleaned up spent casings from the range and even reminded me to wash my hands because of lead exposure. Shani and Tony are absolutely wonderful, personable and dedicated to ensuring participants have ample firearms training and understanding. The HQL course and range time are detailed and easy to understand. I also took a one-on-one range session to try out several potential new firearms.
