A 5/5 MUAY THAI GYM IN BANGKOK! 🇹🇭I’m a pedantic researcher so when it came to booking a Muay Thai gym in Bangkok, I was overwhelmed with the options / number of gyms available. As someone who’s trained Muay Thai for 6 months in India, I was looking forward to train at a gym where community mattered (I wasn’t just another member), where trainers were patient with me and yet pushed me to do better - Tiger Muay Thai delivered just that and more. How to Book - The process is fairly simple. I contacted them through Instagram and was directed to their Webpage. From thereon, I opted for an unlimited weekly pass (Trial Pass was 2,000 Thai Baht). I was directed to an app called ‘Members’ where one can choose from the different class timings and formats. How to Get there - You can reach BTS Ari from your accommodation. From BTS Ari, you can take exit 1 and book a Tuk Tuk 🛺 on MuvMi for 40-50 Thai Baht to the gym. I was staying on the Sukhumvit Line (in Phrom Phong) close to BTS so commute was easy. You may also choose to book a grab directly to the gym.About the Gym - Beginner Friendly, Extremely Female Friendly. The gym offers various classes to choose from and at different times so you can decide accordingly. I mostly went for Muay Thai at 8:30 am and sometimes in the evening for Muay Thai again and Boxing. The classes are very well structured - Stretching, Warm Ups, Shadow Boxing, Pad Work, Bag Work, Technique (Clinching, Punching), Sparring and Cool Down. The gym was very clean and the equipment’s are fairly new. You can carry your gloves wraps shin guards and mouth guards, but just in case you don’t have it, the gym provides you that. There’s a neat washroom and they have a water dispenser. The gym is located in an alley adjacent to Main Street, far from the bustle of the city. It’s peaceful, ventilated, safe and serene.Trainers - The trainers are very patients and super warm. They would always greet you with a smile. Within 3 days, my trainers knew my name, told me about my strength and weakness, helped me hone my skills. The female trainers are exceptionally good and sweet. I realised how much representation matters - As a solo female traveling all the way from India, I was delighted to see strong women who are so skilled, so patient to teach and clear my doubts and just as warm to check on me if I’m feeling okay or to talk about food and fights in Bangkok. Just to train with them again, I intend to visit Bangkok again! 😁If you’re in Bangkok (currently living, relocating or traveling) and looking to join a Muay Thai community gym, THIS is the place to be. I wish the gym and its warm staff the very best of luck. Hope to see you super soon. ♥️💪🏻
