An experience so wonderful I’m looking forward to going back! Never thought I’d say that about getting an IV infusion, and yet, here we are.I get a pretty intense vagal response whenever I get my vein stuck, so I was dreading the experience. They eased my anxiety from the start by giving me a tour of the place. Emily (shout out to her, she’s awesome!) reclined me and put the catheter in, and when the vagal response happened as expected, she was quick to offer nausea medication, juice, and a cold washcloth. As I recovered and got settled in, she and the other staff offered all kinds of aids: oxygen therapy, warm blankets and socks, a warm eye mask, and of course the reclining massage chair. They were all absolutely amazing: friendly, great bedside manner, quick to help, and clearly interested in helping folks feel better and providing a good experience for them. They even called me afterwards to check in and see how I was doing!Based on what I saw, this is *not* a place where they’re trying to get you in and out as fast as possible, or charging you a ton of money for a poor experience, or where you’re just a faceless patient they won’t remember or care about. They give you plenty of time and compassion. Now, does it cost a pretty penny? Yep. But that pretty penny gets you an experience that makes it feel way more like a spa visit than a medical treatment. And for someone like me - extremely anxious, bad vagal response literally every time I’m stuck, likely to get infusions at least once a week for quite some time - that individualized and luxury experience is well worth the money, because it makes a hellish ordeal as heavenly as it can possibly be.
