Daniel with Genuine Flooring recently refinished our hardwood floors. Our floors looked pretty beat up as it had been over 20 years since they were last finished. Daniel is punctual and both he and his team member who was working with him are extremely hard workers and absolute perfectionists. They protected our new cabinets and countertops as well as open areas of the house with plastic. They even removed/reinstalled all the floor molding, doors and appliances where necessary. Their attention to detail is amazing. They patched up/filled areas of the floor that needed attention. Thanks to them our floors look absolutely beautiful.Daniel never tried to upsell at any stage. He was very accessible and responsive to all my texts/questions. He showed us different types of finishes on the floor and we went with the water based finish that he recommended and it turned out great. Daniel and his team completed three separate projects for us over the course of 2024 and 2025. I think that demonstrates both our level of trust and the quality of their work! Initially we asked for them to install cork flooring in our basement which had a cold, unfinished cement floor. Daniel managed the project and Stan did a great job transforming the space. Because it is a low ceiling space, we asked them to cover our wood beams in a soft cork product after they were underway on the floor. Daniel provided a reasonable estimate and his team did a great job on this unusual element.We then asked for them to refinish our flooring in the main living areas...it is a tremendous change and we are so happy to look at it and walk on it. Originally, the floor was orange-toned, heavily stained and ultra-shiny 1990s style oak. Daniel and his team refinished it to look modern, smooth, slightly matte and Scandinavian in style. Not an easy job, I'm sure but they met all the challenges in stride and with great results.A few things of note and somewhat unique:1. Daniel used very high quality, green products for our finish and breathing the air during the renovation was definitely easier than in our previous refinishing projects. We were concerned about off-gassing, VOCs etc. and requested a non-toxic finish. Daniel used a Greenguard certified product from Bona that was perfect for us.2. We asked for several changes (to the area of the refinishing, to the start dates, even breaking the project into two parts) and were accommodated without an issue at all. Daniel is easy to reach, responsive to texts and calls and a kind communicator. When we had some minor issues, like a misaligned built-in that was moved during the project, Daniel came by and fixed those himself. It was very low stress in terms of feedback or questions.3. Every project was timely completed, (ahead of schedule in our case) and the team is punctual and predictable. They disrupted us as little as possible and they were a nice team to have in the home.We are so glad to have found Genuine Flooring, they are good people who do good work. Very highly recommended. The floor looks fantastic! What a beautiful transformation! Despite the scope of work changing several times, Daniel soldiered through it all and finished earlier than expected. Due to some remodeling we had done, we were short some floorboards and trim. Daniel took it upon himself to obtain the missing pieces and cut them to fit. This saved us a lot of grief.
