Booked a manicure and pedicure for myself and a friend. First off we were split apart when we arrived, would have been nice to get the same service and be able to sit with each other. Secondly, my technician for the pedicure really did a number on my toe…trimmed far to deep by my nail bed which started to bleed non stop and then sandpapered off layers of my skin by my cuticle when using the block file (It’s been 3 days and my skin is still stinging and oozy pus…gross I know…). Initially the girls were super nice but you could tell my pedicure technician realized she messed up because she left really quick once done (didn’t even apologize for the cut, just started explaining that my toes were the issue…). Additional, my friend was hoping to upgrade her manicure to acrylic nails and they couldn’t apparently but two walk-in appointments arrived and she ended up giving them acrylic nails? Today was my first time going to this salon and it will definitely be my last. My entire appointment was a disaster and by the end of it, I paid $141.75. I booked a pedicure + gel and acrylic nails for 3:10 PM with Yennie, the owner. I arrived at 3PM and I waited a bit while picking out colors similar to the ones used on my nail inspo. Yennie was busy with other clients so she ended up letting another staff do my pedicure. The staff looked at my inspo pic and took a photo of it. She struggled with the design so I politely said "if it's too complicated, I'm okay with just a solid color" and she said "no it's fine, I can do it." She ended up painting 3 squiggly lines on my big toes as the accent (supposed to match my nails). I expected her to add more swirls like the one from my inspo pic but then she suddenly put the top coat on. After my toes were done I got passed along AGAIN to another staff named Maria who was instructed by Yennie to prep my nails and attach the extensions on. Maria prepped my nails and attached the extensions but I could just tell that they were crooked. I said something about the adhesive pinching my skin to my nail but she brushed me off so I let her do her thing. For the actual nails, I got passed along AGAIN to Johnny. He looked at the crooked extensions and removed 2 from my left hand and 1 from my right hand. Johnny began to do the design and he also struggled. I told him to do a solid color instead if the design on the inspo pic is too complicated. Johnny said no and he assured me that “we should do it", so he ended up completing my nails and they look nothing like my inspo; so uneven and messy. I didn’t have the heart to say anything about it as Johnny was supposed to leave at 6PM and it was already 6:05 that time. All in all, 3 different staff members did my pedicure and nails and none of them was Yennie whom I originally booked with. That to me, is incredibly unprofessional. Prior to booking, I researched Yennie and her work and saw that she has done similar swirl designs before. I felt confident in booking with her, but she chose to completely ignore that booking and instead attend to other clients (some of which are walk-ins and had no appointments).It’s also frustrating that the staff insisted to take on the design despite knowing that they might struggle or be unable to do it properly. It would have been helpful if they were upfront about it from the very beginning. Throughout the appointment, I suggested a solid color and they insisted they can do the design. The staff should have been honest about what they can and cannot do. Before Johnny left, he told Yennie that I wanted to get my big toes changed to solid color instead (solid pink) because I was just not happy with the accents. Yennie looked upset and asked me why I didn't say anything beforehand. Yennie ended up changing the accent on my big toes to a solid pink color in a hurry. I wish Yennie knew how to follow through with appointments booked WITH HER. It's not a great feeling being passed around when I explicitly booked with the person who I thought would be able to execute the design properly. I got there at 3pm and left around 6:15. My appointment lasted for more than 3 hours because of the salon's lack of organization. Overall, I didn't feel like a valued and respected client. For reference, I'm including photos of the squiggly design done on my big toes, the final look of my acrylic nails, and the inspo picture I showed the staff. Spoiler alert: THEY LOOK NOTHING ALIKE! Edit: I’m also adding a screenshot of my approved booking as a response to Yennie claiming that I did not book her. It’s a shame that the owner chooses to lie about something that is clearly her fault. I’d also like to point out how upset Yennie was when I asked to get my toe nails fixed and how much of a hurry she was in to go home. You cannot possibly expect me to ask you once again to fix my nails when you were upset enough the first time and there were no more staff available to fix them. Please do better! Less

No customer service at all! I am from Calgary and went to Royal Spa in Edmonton to have my eyebrows done since they were highly recommended to me. What a big disappointment. The girl that did my powder brows did my brows the way hers were. At the end of the service I asked her to give me longer brows since that’s naturally how they are. She talked me out of it saying that longer brows will make my face & eyes look droopy. Who wants that? So I go back weeks later for a touch up that wouldn’t have happened if I was given what I asked and paid for on the first visit. The morning of my appointment I received a text from Yennie asking me to reschedule since the girl that had to do my touch up was not there. This was the original girl that did my brows too short. I guess she decided to quit or was fired…. I told Yennie that I was in Edmonton only for my appointment and I couldn’t reschedule. I was told that Yennie s sister Kim could do the touch up. So away I go to the appointment.I told Kim what the original girl had said and that I had asked for longer brows. Kim agreed with me and said that she would lengthen my eyebrows. The service seemed good and I was happy with the results until the brows started to heal. Now the photo shows that I have 2 tails on my left eye brow that requires corrective makeup every morning to match the other brow! I decided to have my brows done to save time. So much for that. When I asked for my money back I was told that they would fix it if I went back. Yennie phoned me from Vegas to say she would not be refunding me any money. My only option was to go back to let them make corrections!! Hahaha I actually worry that they will do more damage at this point. When I mentioned that I would be writing a review I was told by Yennie that I was threatening and being rude. What an immature way to provide customer service. Kim and Yennie ganged up on me via long text messages making accusations and taking NO ownership that anyone messed up and I paid for all the services which is close to $500. Royal Spa is all about taking your money and providing haphazard services which I could have gotten anywhere. Stay away or take your chances with them. Less
