I didn’t realize I had been forced into a membership just by purchasing an intro package. When I asked to please help me fix the problem, She told me she cannot refund my money due to policy. I reluctantly agreed to use the credits in the future and was told to send an email to cancel my membership. So, I sent the email.However, the debit came out of my account a third month! When I quickly emailed to explain my situation again and asked for a refund. Many emails were sent to me from various employees explaining the policies.I asked to speak to the owner. Too bad the owner, Peyton is only focused on her policies and doesn’t seem to put her customers first. I requested a refund and was again told I can “enjoy the studio,” “gift the classes,” “not fair” to other patrons. She also told me she cannot remove my debit card, I must do it from the app, which I do not have. How does the owner not have the ability to remove payment cards or cancel memberships? Unbelievable!I find it strange and uncomfortable to learn she feigns ignorance, as if the business practices are out of her control. I am a Disabled Combat Veteran with emotional, psychological, and physical limitations from serving honorably in The USA. Although I have been unable to attend a single class since FEB2025 due to VA appointments, chronic pain, and PTSD retreats, she refuses to refund ANY of my money due to her “policies.”The argument of “fairness” is a great fallacy, there can only be true equity. We must do better, and unfortunately Ms. Peyton and her yoga studio, Elevation Yoga will not get anymore business from me. Shameful, impersonal, and money-hungry.To treat everyone the same is not “fair” because we are not the same. Having true compassion and integrity, treating all people with equity is the only choice. Upon purchasing said membership I noticed that the email clearly stated “ Price Increase 10/3/2023 ALL OF OUR CURRENT MEMBERS AS OF 9/30/23 WILL LOCK IN THIER CURRENT MEMBERSHIP RATE AND WILL NOT HAVE AN INCREASE! WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND ALL OF YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!“. My membership ended a couple of weeks ago. I had been considering buying a membership elsewhere but decided that I would enjoy the consistency of staying where I was familiar. Until I remembered the email! I messaged Payton, the owner, reference led the email from the previous year, and informed her that I would love to buy another yearly membership at that rate. Upon responding, she initially seemed more than happy to honor her discount. I realized that I may need a couple more weeks to save up the amount that I was expecting to pay and asked for an addition week. However, it was the beginning of the month so I had just finished paying bills and am also currently preparing to go back to school, so money was tight. I asked if we could simply wait another couple of weeks before charging the amount and was promptly given the impression that it was an issue. Apparently this was an issue because Payton then began to say that the memberships rates are typically only honored if I purchase the next membership before the initial one lapses. This was not communicated via the email that I referenced, nor was it ever discussed amongst any staff member before this. Rather than communicating with human decency, she made a point to imply that I was somehow in the wrong for asking her to honor a discount that she had offered in the first place. I’m disappointed with my experience overall and don’t plan on spending my money here again. One of the classes had Krishna chanting which was great. I was able to focus more in that class because of soft chanting and being able to hear the teacher better.
