I did 90 minute hot yoga tonight and really liked the instructor. I wish all instructors were as meticulous in correcting posture as he was- and he remembered everyone’s name. However, I cannot do hot yoga in those bright fluorescent lights. It is not relaxing and I became disoriented doing back bends with the fluorescent light in my eyes and had to sit out of the class for a few minutes which is abnormal for my hot yoga practice. I understand it’s bright to see posture but Ive been doing hot yoga in low lighting up until tonight. I would come back if the atmosphere were more relaxing and low stimulation. If that doesn’t bother you, definitely come try out this place.

Love this studio! Teachers are so welcoming and offer modifications, especially for first-timers. Most classes are heated, but they're doing a buildout at Riverdale for a non-heated space coming soon. You can't come in late to the studio, though you could probably be a little late coming to the room once you're inside. This policy makes me feel safe and secure in the space. Mostly due to timing, I've primarily visited Riverdale, but I've also enjoyed my time at Ivy City.

I'm usually a Bikram Yoga Works Riverdale guy, but I love the vibe and classes at Ivy City too. What's nice is that whichever studio you go to, it feels like the same community.
