I had gone with a mortgage lender provided by a home builder prior to Nexa Mortgage for a second home purchase in Houston, Texas. The home builder's preferred mortgage company was slow to respond, kept asking for documents that were already sent, and came close to not clearing the loan prior to the closing date which would have cost me to lose the home and the earnest deposit I had put down. The builder's preferred mortgage lender also would not let me do the loan as a second home and required that I do it as an investment property, which caused the rate to be 4.5% with more closing costs...all this was told to me just weeks prior to the closing date even though I had started the process 6months prior to the expected closing date. I learned about NEXA Mortgage through a friend, and Phong Truong said that Nexa Mortgage would have all the paperwork ready in case the builder's preferred lender was unable to close on time. Nexa Mortgage was able to have all the paperwork ready to execute in less than a week! Phong's team was amazing and always quick to respond, even after work hours and on weekends. The builder's preferred lender was able to close on time, but that was with me having to beg the builder to extend. Once we closed, I immediately reached out to Phong and his team to refinance the property. Phong was able to get me a low mortgage rate on the property as a second home with very low closing costs. The process was stress free, quick, organized and thoroughly explained/executed. I asked Phong if his company/team also covered areas outside of Texas. Unfortunately they do not so I was unable to have them refinance my primary home in Washington state. I have recommended Nexa Mortgage, in particular Phong Truong and his team to my friends and work colleagues in Texas. They are professional and friendly, quick, knowledgeable, thorough and will explain every part of the process and line item so that you know what your choices are regarding your mortgage choices.
