As a doctor, this was one of the worst procedural experiences I have encountered.I underwent a coronectomy of the bilateral impacted mandibular molars, which was followed by severe pain, marked inflammation, and development of a postoperative abscess that ultimately required antibiotic management by my general dentist.Postoperative pain control was inadequate. Corticosteroids or appropriate analgesics were not provided despite reports of severe neuralgic inflammatory pain and was only obtained after I directly requested a colleague to help manage the severity of symptoms. Mind you, my specialty is psychiatry. The pain was the result of an acute postoperative infection that wouldn’t have responded to opioid analgesic regardless, if I had directly requested them (I did not)Attempts to contact the office for guidance on pain management were not handled effectively, and I received minimal direction during the immediate postoperative period. Additionally, sutures dehisced before I even arrived home, raising concern for surgical closure and postoperative stability. While the staff demonstrated professionalism and courteous customer service, the overall clinical management and postoperative care fell significantly below expected standards of care.I would not recommend this surgical center to colleagues or patients.
