We had such a great experience at Sharkey’s for my son’s very first haircut! The receptionist was so friendly and even squeezed us in right before closing, which we really appreciated! Our hairstylist, Maryam, was so sweet and talked to my son the entire time, making him feel comfortable. She was incredibly patient and worked with him through all his little wiggles, and somehow still managed to give him the cutest haircut! It turned out exactly how I wanted!What made it even more special was how they made his first haircut such a great experience, not just for him but for our whole family to be a part of. They even took before and after pictures and sent us home with a little lock of his hair as a keepsake. 🥹 Such a sweet touch! We couldn’t have asked for a better first haircut experience and will definitely be back!

Andrea is the best of the best!! She is the one who cut my son’s hair when he was tiny and screaming and the one who eventually made him love getting his haircut! We don’t live super close anymore but make the 35 or more minute drive to see her whenever he needs a haircut. At 5 my son requests Andrea by name whenever I mention that he needs a haircut. She is super fast, great with kids, and so friendly!

Sharkey Cuts for kids never disappoints! We had Babak cut Christian’s hair today and it turned out so well. He was extremely gentle and patient with my son and cut his hair so well for upcoming picture day! Great haircut! We will definitely be back!

Maryam did a great job washing and cutting my daughter’s hair. She also painted her nails. Overall it was a great experience and my daughter had a great time. I would definitely recommend Maryam for a haircut

They are INCREDIBLE. My one-year-old is scared of everything and honestly was not having it, REGARDLESS of how amazingly baby-friendly a place can be. So even with him crying and thrashing and being inconsolable, our stylist Sima was cheerful, soothing, encouraging, and never once acted flustered or frustrated. What is the most amazing is that there were so many moments when my husband and I thought Sima could have just given up or accepted it was the best she could do, but she never did and kept going because she only wanted to give him the best haircut she could! Our four-year-old daughter loved her experience and luckily had no tears, had the best haircut, and loved the braid and free hair accessory and ring they always provide at the end.

Honestly, I’ve been coming here for years, and I can’t say enough good things about this place! The entire team is welcoming, understanding, and incredibly friendly. I’ve tried taking my son to other places for haircuts, and it’s always been a challenge. But ever since we started coming here, we’ve continued to come back because of how kind, patient, and understanding everyone is toward both my son and me. ❤️Andrea and the entire team truly make this place feel safe, comfortable, and welcoming for the kids. It means so much to have a place where my son feels accepted and where we’re treated with so much kindness. Went in for my sons first haircut, the salon is FILTHY. I didn’t even want to sit down, the chairs and tables were covered with crayon drawings all over, they looked like they had never been wiped down. The stylist stations were dirty and the chairs were not cleaned in between clients only blow dried the hair away. I watched one stylist literally take 5mins with a client from start to finish (good for a child who has a hard time staying still) but how much love and care could you actually be putting into a haircut in LITERALLY 5 minutes. Our appointment was at 4:00 and they were clearly overbooked because they took 3 other clients before us. By 4:15 it was clear that we would be waiting another 15-20 minutes and in a salon that is not safe for children my sons age to be entertained in the area MEANT for children we left. They were also playing EXTREMELY overstimulating techno music and putting IPADS in front of all the kids during their cuts, so if that’s what you are looking for then this is the place for you. But based on the quality experience that we had we will look elsewhere.Oh also they had an ENTIRE stand of toys that they purchase in bulk for maybe 5 cents a piece and they were selling them for $10 each. I’m talking super cheap pieces of plastic. I know they were cheaply made because there were broken pieces of them all over the children’s play table. I get it you have to make your money but $10 for a cheap toy? On top of a $40 haircut not including tip? Come on.

Came in today because my daughter had a huge rats nest and gum at the very center of it. I worked on my daughter’s hair for hours the night before and was prepared for her to get a very awkward and bad looking haircut. Ann was an absolute miracle worker!! She got my daughter comfortable in her cute Frozen car and went to work. She was so patient, didn’t cause pain, and super friendly. I was expecting very awkward ill-placed bangs and in the end my daughter barely lost any hair! She got a great wash and layered cut after. I never thought my daughter would be leaving happy, let alone asking to go back! We will definitely be back to see Ann and try some of the other services too! Grateful for this place!!
