I had made a one time purchase of 56 swimming courses for my kids from Cogua Aquatics, an indoor swimming school in Chino. Two weeks ago, the owner told us they want to charge us additional fees because their business is not doing well. Otherwise, our children will not be able to continue attending classes with the school, even though we still have 41 classes left. I told the owner it was inappropriate to increase his rates after we have already agreed on the transaction terms for those 56 classes. We do not want to pay for the extra fees when we have already agreed on the price, nor do we think it is fair he is requiring us to do so, so we have asked for a refund for the remaining 41 classes. The owner said he will think about it, and later told us we will need to pay a once-a-year registration fee of $150 for our two kids. I told him it was not right for him to charge us this registration fee now since these fees were not part of our original agreement. The owner said our children can attend only one more class if we do not pay the registration fees, despite us having 41 classes left! I asked him again to refund us for the 41 classes since he is refusing to fulfill his end of the agreement, but he refused. Our children attended one last class since the school refused to allow them to attend the rest of their classes. The school has been very unprofessional and we strongly advise other parents to be cautious when enrolling their children in this school.
