We had new electrical outlets put in and our electrician had to cut multiple holes on our walls and ceilings. Five star painting gave us a very reasonable price to patch, retexture, and paint. This painter they mustve just hired missed a few areas of white trim and completely didn't paint my French door, after the walls were painted he left the plastic on the doors and windows for 6 days. He broke one sprinkler that i had my gardner fix the next day i told him to be careful with them but in disregard he broke another sprinkler and didn't even notify us, for 4 days i had a geyser in my front yard. A lady has been coming to check up on his work who also has been dissatisfied of him work ethics. So far no i see no intentions for them to return to fix my sprinkler, besides you get what you pay for im just sorry my land lords as nice as they are couldn't afford to hire real professionals.... painting is not hard just takes caution, patience and care which do not exists at five star painting! Terrible expierence for something that should have been a very smooth project.. I hired five star to paint interior of home two different finishes.. unfortunately the job was done terribly.. I paid for two different finishes of paint. And only one applied to the walls.. not to mention charge for wall repairs that never happened. And various other charges for services that never happened. The painters didn't tape off or put down drop cloths to protect the rest of my home from overspray... Cabinet doors in kitchen were oversprayed, And the floor in two bedrooms was practically painted white, And cost me close to $1,000 to sand and remove paint.. but the flooring still has to be replaced which will be thousands more dollars in replacement.. also the front lawn was ruined when they cleaned their equipment and sprayers in my yard.. Then when I brought these issues to their attention, I was met with lots of excuses comments about they're paint not killing grass or being poisonous.. when that may be true, however if the paint is thick enough to stop sunlight from reaching the grass the grass dies.. All in all I feel like I was overcharged and taken advantage of.. This is pretty upsetting as a disabled veteran, I gladly would have painted the home myself if I had the ability to do so.. when I voiced my concerns to the project lead and management no one was willing to make things right, instead I was met with lots of excuses Google map photos etc....and in the end no real compensation or arrangement was made for the damage done to my home and falling short of meeting The expectations the quote and project claimed.. no discount no refund just poor customer service and finished product, that I'm left having to repair separately and on my own.. I would highly recommend you vet contractors thoroughly.. five Star has lots of good ratings but my experience with them was extremely unsatisfactory.. It felt they were more concerned with finishing the job quickly than doing a job correctly.. sad thing is I spent 2000 - 3000 $ only to have to spend almost that amount to fix the damage that was done when they came to my house in the first place... I picked five star because of their ratings and their pricing.. I would of gladly paid more to have the job done right the first time.. Please keep in mind we had to schedule 2 Saturdays to have to work completed. Following Saturday, (keep in mind, the painter was to show up at 8am) it was about 845 and no painter, I reached out to Matt, who also said he was on his way and asked me if his painter showed up? I said no. about 20 minutes later, I reached out to Matt because I did not hear anything back from him, he sends me a text from his employee that said, I AM SICK AS $%^& and am not coming in and I am TURNING MY PHONE OFF. I was a little taken back from the response and asked Matt if he was coming to paint. He said NO and there is nothing they can do for me today... I am now a bit frustrated and am livid how this was handled, as a Manager, I understand that people may call out sick and have family emergencies, but as a Manager I make sure to provide the absolute best customer service and I step in and so the job when there is NO ONE ELSE. I would give a zero if I could. I cannot emphasize enough how horrible this company is and the terrible job they did for the insanely expensive price. They are all incompetent, and it's a miracle they are still in business. I have no idea where all of these positive reviews come from because they demonstrated to me that they have no idea what they are doing . First, they have zero idea how to estimate a project. Chad, the estimator, is a nice guy, but it was clear he underestimated the amount of work involved, not only at my house, but also other houses, which is why the painters were so badly delayed. Their scheduling was a joke. They were delayed by days, and then once the job started, that was delayed as well. Once they did get here, because they were so rushed and delayed, they did a terrible, sloppy job. The contract I signed said they would tape things up, remove the face plates on the light switches, etc. At best, some tape work happened, but it was very inadequate. There is paint all over my garage floor, my driveway, the ceramic tiles throughout my house, my washer and dryer, face plates, door hardware, etc. The painters even used one my steak knives to open a can of paint, and the knife broke, then they left the broken pieces on the counter. Imagine?? That is an absolute joke. It's going to take me weeks to clean it all up. The lack of attention to detail was astounding. Second, they are a dysfunctional team with a very negative relationship with their sub-contractors. It was clear they had no respect for the management team at Five Star, and vice versa. At times it was like we were caught in the middle of some sort of family feud. Lastly, for the service I received, the price was ludicrous. I knew I would be paying more with Five Star than if I had found my own painter, but the purpose of that was to take care of the basic things that go into a job like this - scheduling, estimating, etc. They failed at everything , so I got ripped off. I estimate the markup to be two and half times what you paid the painters. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and I hope to never see these people again. Stay away. Less

1.0 star rating 6/27/2017 I found these guys on the internet and was directed to their website. I was looking for someone to do a little crown molding reinstall & painting of the same. I filled out their "Free Estimate" form which asked what date you wanted them to come out for the estimate, your personal information & the SCOPE OF THE WORK YOU NEEDED. I was contacted by someone from Five Star Painting and was told someone else would be getting in touch with me regarding the estimate. A few days later, a gentleman, I believe it was Mike, came out to the house and viewed the job himself. He gave me an estimate which was acceptable to me and we scheduled a date for the work to be performed. My daughter had to take the morning off from her college class to meet the "painters" at the house as I was working in Riverside and could not be there. Not only were they hours late, but my daughter called me and said some woman showed up with the painter (I can't remember her name off hand) and started ranting about how "nobody told her that crown molding installation was part of the project" and how "they don't have the equipment for this type of project". The ranting lady called me on my cell phone and told me the same thing she told my daughter. I told her that I filled out the form online and SPECIFICALLY mentioned there was crown molding to be installed. Not to mention, Mike came out and gave me a quote and saw the scope of the project. She told me that they were going to have to get a finish carpenter out to do the cutting and install and she knew a good one that was fast and could get it done. She contacted him (apparently) and told him to contact me. A few days went by and no contact from the carpenter. I contacted the representative from Five Star Painting and told her I had not heard back from the Carpenter. She gave me his number and I proceeded to contact him. A few more days went by and no contact. I tried AGAIN to contact him....no reply. Now, we are two weeks PAST the project time. I once again contacted the lady from Five Star Painting and was told that she would give HIM my information. A few more days pass and nothing. I then contacted the Five Star Painting Rep. and told her to drop the project and that I would get someone else. Do you think I would get an answer from the owner or manager saying 'What's going on" or Can I work this out? Nope...nothing. Stay away from this place unless you want huge communication gaps and lack of professionalism. If I could have given "0" stars I would have. Less
