I loved the workshop I attended last year so much, I booked on to another one specifically aimed at parents and daughters/siblings and bought my daughter (11 years old) along. It was excellent from start to finish. Bob and Izzys skill, and competence was shared with proficiency and kindness. they gave exactly the right level of information to inform, but not overwhelm my daughter and she (and I) left feeling empowered, and ready for whatever may come! I have been attending the free Kent Self Defence Workshop organised by Sevenoaks Council. An excellent opportunity worth taking up. Due to illness and treatment I have been left with little strength and balance, so knew I had no defence skills. Therefore I could be vulnerable. To be honest I never thought I’d come away being able to defend myself effectively. How wrong I was! Even I can use the strength I have with force, using the right techniques. I feel it necessary to practice physically to get the confidence to be able to use it. The workshop enables you to do this. Instructors Bob and Gareth talk about situations where you may need to use self techniques in a sensitive manner. General advice on keeping safe is also discussed. They also manage to make the class enjoyable as well. Techniques are clearly explained and the class is lead in a friendly personable manner. Well done also to Sevenoaks Council for realising the importance of these vital workshops. I really feel that I have benefited as I feel more confident. Have really enjoyed the self defence sessions with Bob and Gareth. They are amazing teachers. Perfect balance of seriousness and fun.
