The place is really nice. Nice ambience. The bar is cute would def go back and sit there. We did brunch. One friend got the Milano omelet which was delicious. Another got the ironbound burger which was also delicious.I got the steak and say— do not order steak here. It was supposed to be a skirt steak w fried eggs. And mind you I don’t like to send food back as a general rule. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it came out well done and the eggs were cooked through when I asked for soft. The waitress took it to replace and when it came back out the eggs were perfect but the steak was a palomilla steak (top sirloin) which was surprising. It was cooked fine so I just kept it… but if you are a steak person, just know this isn’t the place for it. The Standard Cafe & The Newark Standard (the new restaurant addition) is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!! I went yesterday TWICE with my family. For breakfast, we went to the cafe section. I had a caramel latte w/ oat milk. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! For dinner we went back- the atmosphere was such a cool vibe. The artwork is all legendary people from Newark which I thought was super cool. The menu was INSANE. They even had a DJ playing at the perfert volumn so you can still have a convo while enjoying the music. We tried every tapa plus the steak entree. 10/10.
