Pest Czar

We hired Pest Czar without pre-existing pest issues, to try to prevent them from occurring when we moved into our home. I want to start by saying that we never really had problems with the actual techs who were coming out--they were always courteous, answered questions, and seemed really knowledgeable. The company also gets someone out really quickly when you do call with an issue. However, it doesn't seem like what the company is actually telling their employees to do what their contract promises. While we were setting up the contract, we had a lot of promises about how this is a small company that believes in giving people back their homes when there is an issue and protecting people's homes when there isn't.That said, we were on their monthly service for about a year. Our initial service was somewhere in the $200-300 range, and we were paying $89/month. We did the monthly service despite not having any pre-existing issues because we really, really, really didn't want to get pests. Well, we got mice while using this service for pest prevention. I spent months basically pointing out the language in the contract, and every time we confirmed a service I had to remind them what the issue was, and then the person would show up and I would have to in turn remind them. It just felt like there was a disconnect between the company and the people actually administering the pest control across the board. The most anyone ever did was put out poison and check the previous poison to confirm the mice weren't really taking it. Which we knew, because they weren't dying. Despite asking repeatedly both during scheduling and during services, I never saw someone do the thorough check for entry points/sealing work the contract promises, which I understand is the most important part of pest prevention. At some point several months into trying to deal with the mouse situation, the employee literally told us we weren't going to be able to resolve the issue because it's impossible. But I know people who have gotten rid of mice in their home, so while that may be true with how Pest Czar deals with things, I know it isn't true across the board.Additionally, due to some glitch on their end that removed us from the schedule, they just stopped showing up for a month or two in the middle of the contract, until I called them to report our first mouse sighting. We've now been trying to deal with a pest issue that arose during the period of time where we spent around $1000 to prevent pest problems in our home for 6 months. We never, ever would have spent so much money with this company if we thought we were still going to end up with pests anyway. It sort of feels like . . . what was the point? We're hoping we're able to find a company that can actually deal with this issue and prevent it from occurring in the future, because that clearly wasn't Pest Czar.
