We paid FBC for a roof repair. Work was “done” on 4/25/2026 but leaked in the same spot, when it rained 20 days later, on 5/15/2026. FBC was immediately notified by text and calls along with a video of the leak. Since then, FBC scheduled two follow-up appointments to finish the job and canceled both. The most recent cancellation was for the week of 7/13/2026 after we called to confirm the appointment the week before. FBC stated that they didn’t have a “repair team”and could not give us a new appointment date because they have bigger jobs. Note that our roof is NOT a warranty repair. This is related to finishing a job that was already paid for. We asked to speak with Kyle, who quoted our roof or David, the owner to discuss what FBC will now do on our roof to finish the job and are still waiting to hear back. Lei, front desk has been the only person communicating with us since the leak on 5/15/2026. We’ve also been waiting for warranty paperwork that we offered to just pick up in 7/8/2026 from their office on Ualena Street but was told that all staff are working remotely and that FBC doesn’t have an office. We also wanted to speak to someone in person other than the front desk staff, to discuss the scope of work to be done on our roof but that wasn’t possible. We hope to hear back from Kyle, David or other Fullmer brother soon to discuss a plan.This review will be updated once the work on our roof is officially done. (G. Fukumitsu)UPDATE #1: David and Kyle did a roof inspection on 7/18/2026 and David developed a plan. David listened to our concerns, thoroughly explained what could be done and offered options for FBC to follow through on the repair. On 7/21/2026, a roofer was sent to do another inspection and to place caulk on a small section of the roof to mitigate. The roofer did a water test, but could not replicate the leak. So, the roofer recommended that FBC soak the roof for over an hour to replicate heavy rain, which is how we discovered that the leak was not fully repaired on 5/15/2026. The roofer also entered the attic and identified the location where water accumulates with heavy rain due to staining. The roofer recommended a disassemble and reassemble of tile to properly identify the leak. He also thought that there might be an issue with the battens. The roofer passed this info along to David. We’re now waiting for a confirmation on next steps and a follow up appointment. David has graciously offered to be our primary contact until the repair is done.UPDATE #2: 8/11/2026, FBC returned to repair the roof per their recommendations on 7/21/2026. They will return tomorrow to finish the job and a final update will be provided. On a side note, Tropical Storm Lala is arriving this weekend.UPDATE #3: FBC finished the job before the storm. There are some exposed pieces of wood battens that need to be cut away to prevent wood rot which I’m currently working on with the roofer to remedy after 9/1/2026. Will update once battens are addressed.UPDATE: 9/1/2026. As promised, the battens were cut today.Mahalo David and team for the excellent service!
