Steve did all the custom woodworking for our Ladakhy boutique in Greenwich and I am truly very happy with the outcome. I will admit there was a point when I was getting a little nervous because the project got delayed by about 3-4 weeks, but looking at the finished work now, I guess good work sometimes does take time :)We used rift white oak veneer throughout and Steve really did justice to it. The wall units, display tables, checkout counter and everything else came out beautiful. We have received so many compliments on the store already.I think the name Genuine Woodworking actually suits his work very well. Steve is a seriously good carpenter and I think he can execute pretty much any kind of custom woodworking project, residential or retail.I would recommend Steve any day, and when the next Ladakhy boutique happens, I would definitely want him to do it again.

Well, years later we are still enjoying the quality of the kitchen cabinets. ( I reposted my original review). They continue to look new and function perfectly. The arrangement of the appliances/storage/countertops has made cooking a pleasure.We were finally ready to tackle our Master bath and of course reached out to Steve. He assisted us in the design process (it was a total gut job), as well as the design of our vanity. The vanity was delivered last week and it is not only gorgeous, but fits perfectly in the space. The arrangement of cabinets and drawers will allow my husband and I to have our own space (let’s see whose side is kept more organized!). The vanity comes with spec sheets which has allowed the plumbers and electrician to plan ahead. We are waiting for our countertop to be installed but I already have plans how to organize the (my) drawers! The color is beautiful, bringing out the blue in our shower tiles. We couldn’t be happier with how the vanity has complimented the tile work. Thank you Steve, once again, for a job well done!

As a weekend woodworker without a jointer or planer, I was stuck with some rough lumber that I couldn't use. Steve was incredibly helpful and milled my boards flat and square in no time. Would highly recommend and I’ll be working with them in the future as well.

We needed a custom cabinet to fill a large blank wall and cover an ugly pipe in our finished basement. Stephen's suggestions during the planning process ended up being perfect! The finished cabinet looks amazing in the space and provides a lot of extra storage. Best of all, it fits right over that ugly pipe and transforms an eyesore into the most attractive part of the room. We love it! Stephen does great work.

I recently hired Genuine woodworking to do a small built-in job for me, and while the quality of the work was excellent, I had a negative experience with the company overall. One of the main issues I had was that the finish on the cabinet door profiles was not correct. I had specifically discussed this detail with them, but when the doors were installed, they were not what I had requested.Another issue I had was that the company required payment in full before starting the job. While this is not uncommon in the industry, I was uncomfortable with it because I had not yet worked out all the details of the project, such as paint color, molding types, and cabinet door types. When I asked the company about this, I was told that these details would be finalized in the office right before the job started. However, when we met in the office, the company mixed up the cabinet door profile types that we had selected, and they ended up using a generic shaker style that I had not agreed to.I reached out to the company to try and resolve this issue, but they refused to remake the cabinet doors or provide any kind of compensation for the mix-up. This was extremely frustrating and left me feeling like I had been ignored and not valued as a customer. While the quality of the product was great, I would not recommend this company for small jobs because of the difficulties I experienced with payment and communication. I would not use them for a larger job like a kitchen renovation due to my negative experience.

Stephen did a fantastic job building a custom canopy for my fish tank. He came up with brilliant ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. The canopy came out way better than I could have ever imagined. I also had him build a custom cabinet for a mini fridge in my bathroom. We wanted to update our kitchen and began the process of refacing the cabinets. I met with a few companies and found Stephen could make us all new cabinets at close to the cost of refacing with other companies, that were not offering real wood fronts.. Trying to keep the cost down I was concerned about changing the footprint, but his measurements were exact for our new appliances and the old layout. The cabinet quality is amazing, the material of the inside of the cabinets is also wood (not composite), the paint finish was pristine and the installer he used was courteous, timely, and cleaned up very well.

I am a furniture maker with a small shop and needed to flatten a large epoxy river table. It would've taken me hours to sand the whole thing flat and I needed to get it done quick with a deadline approaching for the table. Steve helped me out and sanded the table with his industrial drum sander. It came out very flat and allowed me to finish the table in time. His shop is very impressive and so are his woodworking skills. Excellent service at a fair price!
