Let me start by saying as someone who makes their own jerk chicken from scratch and loves Jamaican food in general I highly recommend this place. There are a few things I believe they could improve upon but I totally understand with the current economy. I ordered jerk chicken with fried plantains and steamed veggies. The portion of the jerk chicken was small and so was the fried plantains but the price was pretty fair at 19.99. They ran out of steam vegetables but gave me a tasty fruit and vegetable drink to make up for it. Now to get to the jerk. I love spicy food and it’s hard to find places that will give you that because they are trying to appeal to various pallets of picky Americans but I ordered the jerk spicy and these guys delivered. Even I’d say that jerk had a spice to it. That jerk was straight fire. So flavorful I could taste the scotch bonnet peppers the thyme the bay leave the whole nine. My only honest critique on the negative side was the portion size. If they would offer a bigger portion of chicken or plantains even at a little higher price then there would be nothing to critique but like I said with inflation I totally understand the portion sizes. I also don’t like that you have to order online and can’t call in because you don’t know what they’ve run out of and I am a people person and like talking to people and I support peoples business more when I know them on a more personal level. I will say they make up for it with the 15 percent off for online ordering and they have lockers to pick your food up in. Which isn’t 100 proof as someone could walk in and cop your food. Two suggestions I would add is I love when the jerk sauce isn’t on the side and is smothered on very heavy and if they would offer more desert I would appreciate that as well but again I understand if when they do inventory and people aren’t purchasing those things it doesn’t make sense to have them on the menu. Overall I definitely recommend this place and look forward to trying red snapper escovich and curry goat if those things are on their menu. Keep up the good work guys. Less

Visiting here this week had it's challenges, however the food we at here was an exceptional experience!! East coasters pride ourselves on having some of the best food. We have met our match with this authentic style jamaican flavor. Good food heals, food is mood, and we all thoroughly delighted ourselves and felt great afterwards! The pineapple ginger drink- excellent. Jerk chicken- couldn't get enough. Plantains- cooked to glazed perfection. Rice n peas/cabbage- give me some everyday. Im pretty picky because I am Jamaican myself, and grew up eating my mom’s amazing authentic cooking, but also making the recipes myself. I’ve tried other “Jamaican” restaurants in the valley, and truly was disappointed because they weren’t authentic, or good. This is the only Jamaican restaurant I will eat at. The Island Boyz really got it down to a science. The food is authentic, it’s delicious and brings back the feeling of home. Their fresh pressed juices are soo good. My first time ordering from Island Boyz, so decided to order the Jerk Shrimp. After tasting how delicious everything was, I was wishing that they had more seafood options. I know from the reviews of their other dishes that everything must be as delicious as the jerk Shrimp meal but I don't eat any other meats except seafood. I was called back and the guy was super friendly and reiterated the 15% off first time orders. My food was ready in a timely manner. I haven't had jerk chicken like this since visiting Jamaica 20 years ago (not a tourist region, stayed with a family friend and enjoyed authentic Jamaican cousine). 1st side: Mixed Veggies (tender steemed cabbage, diced carrots, pees, corn) was flavorful, delicious. 2nd side: Fried Plantain was tender and sweet. Sauce: I requested spicy and they delivered- perfect heat but mind you I do like it hot (comes on the side).My friend had the Chicken Tikka Masala (I tried some) and the flavor was very good, although having chosen the hottest spice option, I thought this should have been much hotter. I've been craving some good Jamaican food ever since I've moved to the West Coast. I've been pretty much let down. UNTIL NOW... this food was the bomb. Got the Jerk Chicken plate, with Rice and Peas, Steamed Cabbage and a side of Festivals with some Pineapple Juice. Let me tell you. It felt like I was back home! 5* for this place. I am so happy I found this Jamaican spot, I have been looking for some authentic tasting Jamaican food for a while, East Coast style . I have finally found one. I spoke to Chris and explained to him my expectations of how I like my Jamaican food, he gave me 100% of what I asked for. Rice had the oxtail gravy just the way I like it. Seasoning was out of this world, Oxtails fell off the bone. Everything was on point!! The food will give you a mouth watering food orgasm. The first bite will make you do a happy dance l swear!! I absolutely love the food here! The jerk chicken & rice & peas! Omg so much flavour! The spicy is spicy! The sweet & spicy is hot but sweet 😂 the mild is mild & that’s the best for people who don’t like spice at all. I’m obsessed the pineapple ginger drink!!!! Then the beef patty’s??? Delicious! I got the curry chicken and jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. At first I thought the bowl was kind of small but i ended up not being able to finish it all in one sitting, it was sooo filling!
