We had our baby girl’s first head shave at Sharkey’s, and our stylist, Tami, was amazing! Since it was her first time and she wasn’t fully cooperative, Tami handled her so patiently and gently. She seated her in one of the fun car chairs, played her favorite songs, and even gave her a lollipop and cute rings to keep her distracted.As our little one was moving around a lot, Tami suggested having her sit on my lap to safely finish the shave, which worked really well. She kept checking in to make sure we were happy with everything, which we really appreciated.To top it off, she gave our daughter a balloon in her favorite color and a “first haircut” certificate. Such a thoughtful touch! Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend them.

I took my two kids (3.5 and 11 months) to Sharkey’s for their haircuts today and had the best experience!! This was my daughter’s first salon cut and my son’s first ever haircut. We had the pleasure of Melissa taking care of us, and wow - she is a fantastic human!! She is so calm, personable, kind, and adorable. Oh and did I mention talented? My 11 month old does not stop moving and she nailed his haircut!! My daughter’s hair was cut perfectly even. She had both kids done in about half an hour. I’m so impressed and blown away. Melissa, you have a gift and you have two new clients for life!

OMG I just took my 3yr old here and I can say it was the most easiest process, it was my daughters first hair cut Latonya was cutting her hair and she made it so simple and easy and quick that my daughter didn’t freak out at all, not even once! I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone who has a little one. I was nervous about getting her hair cut and finding a good place but I will definitely be coming back! 10/10 all around! Highly recommended! This was our 5th visit to Sharkey’s and it’s always a great experience. The entire staff is very helpful, but Clara is definitely our favorite. She is so attentive and sweet with my daughter Amelia. She’s the reason we keep coming back! If you want a stress-free haircut for your kids, definitely ask for her. Gracias Clara!

Really good place to take your kid for his/her haircuts. My son doesn’t like getting haircuts and makes a fuss about it but after coming here he doesn’t as much anymore, they’re really good with the kids and have so much patience with them! Couldn’t recommend it more. Melissa is always the one that helps us out she’s the best!

Melissa was so great with my kids! My son has been coming to Sharkey’s for years and our experience with Melissa today at the Cumming location was our best experience yet. My daughter was scheduled for her first haircut after her brother’s haircut, but she got scared and initially refused to do it. Melissa found a way to earn her trust by letting her sit in the car first and watch some of her favorite movie, then casually had her put on the haircut cape (commenting on how pretty pink it is, which made my daughter forget she was scared). The whole process was so gentle and calm that my daughter ended up getting the haircut after all and she did great! She was really proud of herself after and I’m so glad we were able to get it done. Thank you to Melissa for treating our family so well!

Tami has been cutting our son’s hair for over 2 yrs now. He’s 3, nonverbal, and isn’t very fond of the noise the clippers make. But he seems to be comfortable with her. He does not cry. Just kind of looks at the clippers like he’s annoyed. Very happy with the service.

My son has autism, and getting his hair cut has always been one of the hardest things for him. Because of that, I usually do the best I can at home. I recently saw someone share a wonderful experience at Sharkey’s, and I thought, since we’re heading on vacation, maybe it was worth trying. I do an okay job for a mom without a license, but let’s be honest—hairstylists are truly incredible at what they do.When we arrived, I quietly mentioned to Tami that my son has autism. She didn’t even hesitate or make it awkward; she just smiled and said, “That’s okay.” That simple moment of kindness almost made me cry right there.My son struggled through the appointment and wasn’t very cooperative, but Tami stayed calm, patient, and so gentle. She somehow managed to give him the most amazing haircut, and he looks so handsome. The other staff members were equally kind and supportive, helping her with such understanding and grace. It felt like everyone in that room truly cared.To the incredible women who helped us today—you have no idea how much that meant. You turned something that’s normally filled with stress and anxiety into a moment of relief and gratitude.
