I took his guitar class at byu-idaho and it was the first music class I took where I actually felt like I learned something and was good at the instrument he taught me. All my other music classes taught me how to play a handful of songs, but his class actually taught me the guitar. I went from barely able to play ode to joy to being able to not only play several rock songs and read tablature, but also be able to just have fun with the instrument and jam without following notes on a page after just a few weeks. I grew up in a musical family but didn’t really learn an instrument myself. Now that I’m a mom I’ve missed having live church music in my home so when I saw an ad for Ukulele Hymns on Facebook I decided the ukulele might be my opportunity to get some music in our home. I hate ordering things off Facebook—you can never be sure if it’s legit. Well, I just got our second ukulele book and they have been great! The primary song book has been our home church music for all of Covid. I started out rough but the book makes it easy to learn. I just bought the Christmas one and with the exception of that darned e flat, I could play all the songs right when I picked the book up. And six months ago I was as novice as I could be! Everything shipped quickly (and I love the instant digital download for three bucks more since I’m not a patient woman!). Overall I’m super happy I took the plunge and ordered. Less
